Yes, because of easier transfer, higher concentration, and preference cause of stronger effects.Nuts to all these claims; even in my hardest-drinking days, an easily trasported pint bottle of liquor packed a real wallop.

higher concentration, and preference cause of stronger effects. Why would these be bigger issues for kids than for adults?

sorry, you are a jerk.
my kids don't use drugs,
well, if you really opened your eyes, you would realize that booze is harder to get, for most kids,
pot, is sold by drug dealers, who have no one looking into their business

Cause they have to sneak it, obviously.
Same as adults.
It's easier to sneak pills or weed or powder than alcohol.
Obvious stuff really.

Well which do you prefer? Your pot or booze?
Obviously people prefer pot to booze if both are around. Don't even try to lie to me that you wouldn't prefer pot.
I've only drank and had prescription drugs. The prescription stuff was much harder for me to get off of. Similar to the pot addicts I've seen.
Drinking was a piece of cake to stop.

I know. That's my point.

If it's the same as adults, then you have contradicted your claim that it's a bigger issue for kids. Obvious stuff really.

Well which do you prefer? Your pot or booze? Neither. I use no drugs, including the deadly addictive drugs alcohol and tobacco.
Obviously people prefer pot to booze if both are around.
How is that "obvious"?
Drinking was a piece of cake to stop.
For you, perhaps. According to research cited by the Institute of Medicine, of all those who have ever used alcohol 15% of them became dependent; for marijuana the corresponding figure is a substantially lower 9%.

I'll take my personal experience over what some internet board person says..
My experience with booze and pot, for myself and others, has shown the opposite to be true. That means much more to me than statistics. My problems with prescribed stuff also shows me the dangers of this 'legalize everything' stuff.
I also quit smoking too without any problem. Never got that into though. So I contend with anyone who says they are so dangerous.

If you know that, why is it easier for kids to get weed.
and why should we keep weed illegal

"If oiur government were to relegalize drugs for adults, we would give sellers a new economic incentive to not sell to kids---namely, the risk of losing their legal adult business."Yep. You can see how well that theory works with alcohol and cigarettes.
Kids are paying top dollar today to the gangs to get their drugs. They'll continue to do so if marijuana were made legal.
To: vin-one
Cause there's no evidence whatsoever that legalization will reduce teen demand or usage, that's why.
In fact, there's every reason to believe that higher availability will lead to higher use. Why are tobacco and alcohol #1 in use, even though they are less addictive and have less effects than these other drugs?

"put themselves in greater danger of dropping out of school, committing crime, attempting suicide or becoming involved in other dangerous behaviors, the report said"Why is tobacco even in this survey? Does it lead to these things?
To: Monty22
That means much more to me than statistics. The clarion call of the invincibly ignorant.

You know for a fact that youth use of alcohol and cigarettes wouldn't be even higher if they were criminalized for adults?
Kids are paying top dollar today to the gangs to get their drugs. They'll continue to do so if marijuana were made legal.
If so, that in no way changes the fact that sellers' total incentives would have changed in the direction of discouraging sales to kids.

Well let's see. Marijuana -- easy to get -- 24% use
Alcohol -- hard to get -- 50% use.
Yeah, bassmaner, let's legalize marijuana and make it hard to get so that we can get the kids to use marijuana as much as alcohol. Good thinkin'.

Gateway Theory, old boy, haven't you heard?
