Pentagon Report Calls for the United States Control of Space*** U.S. Armed Forces are dedicated to protect and advance American interests, on a national and global basis, and if necessary, to decisively defeat threats to those interests. The QDR notes that "enduring national interests" include protection of critical U.S. infrastructure. Furthermore, part of the country's economic well being includes "security of international sea, air, and space, and information lines of communication."***

"Chinese space officials have hinted at a multi-pronged human spaceflight program, including space station construction,
as well as eventual travel to the Moon, all by 2020." If a 2nd rate power such as China can have a goal plan such as this, its a shame that the US can and will only dither around. Of course granny will have her free pills so we shouldn't complain. (sarcasm off)

Forget (about) the moon.
They're doing this for the lucrative 'International Space Station' Chinese food delivery route.

China's first piloted space journey could occur as early as next month.
I just can't help myself from saying this, "HE'S A DEAD MAN". And, how did the chinese get the drivers seat, steering wheel and pedal from a Toyota into the cockpit of the spacecraft.

We better be a few jumps ahead. There are a lot of commercial and military comsats between here and the Moon.

Welcome to 30 years ago. Big deal. Except that NASA was a whole lot further ahead 30 years ago than they are now.

Welcome to 30 years ago. Big deal. It's a big deal for NASA, too, since they are still there. We are eyewitness to historical change. America is preparing for retirement.

Chinese Space Agency wishes to extend our warmest thanks and gratitude to the man without whom this feat would not be possible.
Thank you, Comrade Clin Toon

I don't think we have the will to explore. I could be wrong though.
Space Ping! This is the space ping list! Let me know if you want on or off this list!

China prepares for first "human" space flight? I may be misinformed but I thought the Russians were first followed shortly thereafter by us.

So they are a little behind the times.
However...lets see how fast they can catch up. And lets hope we can still excell in space before they do. I don't want to see the Red Planet being run by Red Commies.
