And Mrs. Clinton is " amazed and outraged" to hear that she has been censored by the Chinese government owned Yilin publishing house that bought the rights to her 'Living History", they changed some of the more unflattering bits and pieces about China. The Clintons have assumed that China, and N. Korea were forever in their debt.

Bill Gertz told us about this in his book China - at least four years ago. As said, the Clinton Legacy keeps on giving.........

If I remember correctly, the DF-5 ICBM was kick-started in around 1970 and was badly delayed by the final years of the Cultural Revolution. Its first flight test didn't come until 1981. As late as 1992, an authoritative intelligence report concluded that only 4 DF-5s were deployed "on alert" in silos, with perhaps a handful of others stored where they couldn't be conveniently launched at short notice.

Then the numbers started creeping up, and it corresponded neatly with Clinton's election and reelection. By the mid-90s the 4 ICBMs had suddenly jumped to the 18-20 region and that's where it still stands, if official estimates are trustworthy - and that's doubtful.

It's worth pointing out that our intelligence community has consistently produced the most benign estimates of Chinese nuclear capabilities, compared to those of other nations and non-state organizations like Jane's. What you hear from the CIA and even the DOD sources are probably only a baseline approximation of their true nuclear arsenal.

Really? Considering that only now they have about a dozen nuclear missiles, perhaps you could post something about Chinese missile technology in, say, 1972.

Okey-dokey. The DF-5 (the ICBM in question) went operational in the late 1970s.

I wasn't aware of this. Thanks for posting this information.

Newly declassified documents show that President Bill Clinton personally approved the transfer to China of advanced space technology that can be used for nuclear combat.

Fine, but I prefer not to focus on the minutia. I want to know something really important: Did he out any CIA desk jockeys?
