BSA membership peaked at nearly five million in 1972.

From 2019 to 2021 it dropped to 762,000.

Now there’s a new, disturbing trend.
1 million and growing: BSA membership is on the rise

Democrats went after 3 American institutions with gay rights. The military, marriage and the Boy Scouts. Gays are allowed to be BS leaders.
Why any parent would think that a gay man wants to be a BS leader for any reason other than the obvious is beyond me. Trannies that read at public schools to young kids...same thing.
Almost as bad as the TEACHERS UNION.
Bingo!
Netflix won’t go near Hollywood
I know how you feel. But keep it proudly up on your wall. You worked hard for it, and being an Eagle Scout once really did mean something.
For the same reasons, I still wear my US Navy hat, even though the US Navy today is a hot mess of wokeness and run by people who would push a button to launch a missle at me rather than at enemies of this country.
I only spent three years in the Boy Scouts, but I treasure it because I learned a lot and had a lot of fun in it.
Good post.
This may explain a lot...

Only 3 bios. One is particularly interesting.
But the BSA is a 501c3.
You’d think there would be more info on governance and where the money comes from and goes to, but there isn’t.

Again, interesting.
Note the commonality among the leadership, both local and national.
Oh, yeah...

I seriously doubt those numbers.
Eagle is an individual honor, and if you deserved it (didn’t have 54 merit badges when you were 13 because your Dad was friends with the scoutmaster), then display it proudly.
I learned honor in Boy Scouts, and I still try to do at least one good deed every day (I’m 73). I hate posting about this topic, it grieves me so what has happened.
Recall how the Boy Scouts were bullied into allowing gay scout masters? Opponents of gay scout masters were smeared as bigots. Once the Boy Scouts submitted to the political correct demands, it is not surprising that sex abuse cases piled up.
ps
Why hasn’t the huge number number of sex abuse cases in public schools generated a Netflix doc? The answer is obvious.
Isn’t this a strong argument against allowing homosexual spit leaders?
Scout* (damn auto correct)
The Boy Scouts were set up for this a generation or two ago by people who hate everything the Boy Scouts stand for, such as trustworthiness, loyalty, etc. and, most of all, patriotism.
The troops were forced to accept gay men as leaders. The result could have been predicted, but the same people who forced this on the BSA are now going after them for the result.
Truly sad but the BS have been destroyed.
The only problems I ever had when with the Boy Scouts were from two jerks who were in my troop.
Keep it there. The Boy Scouts stand for everything good about America. This problem was forced on them by people who hate the Boy Scouts and America.
My brother and I are Eagle Scouts. My father took over as scoutmaster of the troop founded by Rabbi Alexander Goode, who became imortalized as one of the Four Chaplains, who went down with the Dorchester in WWII.
I lost a good friend over this. He was a BSA leader who thought there would be no problems with homosexuals in the BSA leadership. He genuinely thought that. He said there is oversight and others watching. I said groomers are sneaky and get away with things for years before ever being caught.
Here we are today, 10 years later, and his naivete was proven out.
