To: RnMomof7,
Arminism= works based salvation... The blood of Christ is indeed sufficent for all..but effective only for the elect..

How is that a work?

Arminism...the blood of Christ is of effect for all men if they are smart enough or clever enough to do accept it..Of course you have never explained why some are smarted or more clever..at least not yet...

Because the wicked will not humble themselves to acknowledge that they need God, and they do not believe what God says about their eternal future.

It all starts with believing what God says! The wicked refuse to believe and accept the free gift.

For the Biblical definition of what constitutes a work see Rom.4:4-5, faith is not a work.

What you need to explain is why God who could save everyone doesn't! That is some God that you have!

Frankly, you can keep him, I prefer the God of the Bible, as even the brillant(your words) Piper admitted wants all men to be saved!

I was wicked Dec...I am still wicked Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Why does one wicked person hear and another not? I say the grace of God preceeds the faith...
Act 18:27 And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:

All men want a solution to their problems ...not all men want Christ..you know how I know that? I am a very clever girl...Look around ya...what do you see? If all men wanted Christ they could have Him by your construct right?......This is an issue of wants ftd...men do not want Christ..they want what they want..

I know what you say, but you havn't proved it from Scripture. Why would God choose some and not others? Man's own will stops him from receiving the free gift.

Act 18:27 And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:

Ofcourse, he believed through grace for the entire plan is from God and therefore Grace (Eph.2:8-9) Now what did the next verse read,

For he mightly convinced the Jews and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was God (Acts.18:28)
Note they were convinced, they saw the truth and made a decision, no irresistable grace.

For the Biblical definition of what constitutes a work see Rom.4:4-5, faith is not a work. What you need to explain is why God who could save everyone doesn't! That is some God that you have! Well, Amen! That is exactly right! Not all men want Christ.

I am a very clever girl...Look around ya...what do you see? If all men wanted Christ they could have Him by your construct right?......This is an issue of wants ftd...men do not want Christ..they want what they want..

That is right, most man do not want God, they reject what is revealed to them.

Now, you think because someone was smart enough to choose God that is not humble, yet without being made humble first, one will never come to God.

First, one is shown that he is a sinner and he needs a saviour. If a person is not humbled at that point, he will not receive Christ. God, through the scriptures will convict a man of the fact that he is a very bad position and needs salvation.

The meek will he guide in judgement, and the meek will he teach (Ps.25:9)

The alternative is the Calvinistic approach with the false humility of man not making any decision. The humility is false because it leaves the elect as the chosen ones while everyone God passed over (how special they must be!)

Finally, as already noted, you must make decisions against God when you sin. You are going against the Holy Spirit who resides in your very body (1Cor.3:16). Do you claim anything when you are wise enough to reject sin and remain filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit does the actual work, (Phil.2:13) but it is your will that allows it.
