No matter what you think of Chelsea's parents [and it couldn't be any worse than I think of them], you need to cut Chelsea some slack.

Chelsea's language strikes me as artificial and contrived. Can you really imagine a 22-yr. old naturally writing that she "bristled at these suggestions", etc.?

I can't help thinking that Chelsea was writing with one eye on her future candidacy, making sure, to quote someone, that she would "preserve her political viability."

No embarrassing questions about embarrassing statements SHE made during the war, unlike her father.
