From John and ken, "This will complicate the DW prosecution." "An incredibly complex set of circumstances."

Oh great, now Freepers are quoting DJ's reading tabloids as serious news! What an embarassment.

Y'know what? I think you're a troll. You come on these threads, and offer nothing but insults. If you really really hate these threads so much, why do you bother to click on them? It's so easy not to be embarassed, by just choosing other threads.

I agree. It's pretty sick for a bunch of strangers to go to a murder site with teddy bears and flowers.
Take your stuffed animals and flowers to the Children's Hospital. Hug a child, take them to the zoo, but don't hang out at a murder site. Sick, sick, sick.

I agree. It's pretty sick for a bunch of strangers to go to a murder site with teddy bears and flowersI join you in this opinion. It's so affected.
I look at these people and wonder why ???????? There are tragic deaths every day in every city. Obviously because it is publicized, they jump on the band wagon. It really bugs me. Grrrrrrrr !!!!!!

They do make some strange statements.

Thank you, Fresno ... I welcome the intro to the Danielle threads when I return home from work every night.

Haven't we had
ENOUGH of this topic in "Breaking News"? I'm half ready to organize a freep of the March 16th public memorial service scheduled for a public beach. I've definitely hit saturation on this topic. UGH.
There was another child here in San Diego, missing since Wednesday, recovered today alive. I hadn't heard a THING about it before this afternoon. Go figure.

LOL Hey, I consider supermarket tabloids a very poor source of ''information''. But I also agree that the media is biased against conservatives so.......there are not many valuable sources left. On the other hand, The Characters on the movie "men in black" consider them a great source of info. Whatever floats your boat! LOL I thinkt here is a story about a frog boy in kansas. I also remember something about a great grandmother giving birth to a 2 headed alien...I was standing in line at the checkout counter and they were right thereon the front page. :)

LOL~ It's embarrassing only if you get caught reading them or buying them. It's best to say "this is for research purpose" or "I'm buying these for someone else".. :D

It's so easy not to be embarassed, by just choosing other threads.I reported the John and Ken stuff because the globe doesn't seem to have a website, and several posters on the other thread asked for published information.
The globe info must be considered in context and not as fact. But lots of clintoon dirt first appeared in tabloids and was later proven out.

I think of people reading tabloids from the newsstand and wonder..when and why in the world did they become mainstream? (3 headed purple alien monster born to great grandmother) There is only one purple alien monster type tabloid and that is the Sun. But the average tabloid USUALLY has very stringent fact checking. They broke the story on OJ wearing the Bruno Magli shoes and many other scoops. They are mosty about what Jennifer Lopez wore and who had the latest plastic surgery. They will tell you if an actor is wasting away from cancer ... but their stories are fairly accurate ... not always, but often enough not to dismiss outright.

I agree. It's pretty sick for a bunch of strangers to go to a murder site with teddy bears and flowers. I couldn't agree more. But, just wait! It's been all over KOGO this afternoon (and anywhere else, really) that we'll get to "enjoy" the twisted and the Media whores perform at a public memorial in a couple weeks.
I'm really annoyed with Hedgecock's "Never Again" festival/political-gangbang scheduled for Monday. LET HER REST! She went 'missing' (likely died) 30 days ago today. At this point, the girl's still being robbed of her basic human dignity. The parents are celebrities now. It's all quite sick.
To: quimby
I take that with a grain of salt at this point. I'd like to call in and ask them why they consider the supermarket tabloid a valuable source of information.

Even they can hit the nail on the head at times I'm sure...

I'm not sure which is worse, the morbidness of going to the murder site, of the fact that these people are probably passing hospitals where these items and sentiments could do some good.
A few years ago some scungeal blew away the night crew of a Pizza Hut here in Tucson, two months later the compulsive mourner were still filling the walkway with flowers, they finally shut down the restaraunt, no way they could re-open it with all that junk piling up everyday.
Whatever happened to making a donation to some charity in the name of the deceased, lighting a candle at church and stepping aside to let the relatives mourn in peace? That's how things used to be done.

Bump!

Nah, Kim, I'm not embarassed to be caught reading them. I've even framed the funnier covers for cheap wall art.
But I am embarassed of posters who post from them, and expect us to take it as seriously as National Review or American Spectator.
I take an even dimmer view of the posters who put it up without proper sourcing because they more interested in sensational controversy than contributing to discernment of the truth.

A hunch, or perhaps a tip? Has anyone seen an interview with (or anything about) Westerfield's bar partner the night of the abduction? I think his name was Gary. I'd love to hear his side of if Westerfield decided to go to the desert on the spur of the moment ... and what excuse for leaving the bar at 10:30.
