Texas hasn’t elected a democrat to a statewide office since 1994 and they won’t start
in 2018. Cruz was a newbie as far as elected officals go when he won. True he had held
several political jobs in Texas but he’d never been on a ballot.
Please, please, take a close look at Ted Cruz’ resume. What was he doing when he met his wife? Who did he help get elected as a lawyer in Florida in 2000? Whose Commerce Department did he work for after that?
The battle with David Dewhurst for the Senate set was so much Kabuki theater. They are both Bush retainers. The Bushes planned to use Ted’s naturally obnoxious personality to fool Conservatives into thinking he was one of them. Look at what he actually accomplished for Conservatives in the Senate.
Did he stop the Gang-of-Eight Bill in the Senate? No. Did he stop Trade Promotion Authority in the Senate? No. Did he stop the Corker Amendment that gave us the Iran Deal? No.
If you don’t have a problem with Wall Street in general or Goldman-Sacks in particular, then this tells me that you really aren’t paying attention. Your analysis of what happened in Atlantic City also shows that you don’t understand what actually happened. Atlantic City was going bust, and Donald Trump got out before it was completely gone. Making a bank eat the loan they gave you does not give them any leverage over you.

1) the only people that should determine if Cruz is reelected to the senate are Texans.
2) Yes at one time Trump was anti-gun, no Trump supporter denies that. Now he has changed, said it publically and yet....Cruz fans keep repeating he is anti-gun like it is still true. Miss-representing a persons stance is...bearing false witness.
Would you be willing to clarify your comment on Trump and be willing to acknowledge he is now pro-gun with a pretty good program of offensive action against the anti-gun folks?

3) I agree that folks should stop insulting Cruz. But does he not also have an obligation to get behind trump, endorse him and offer to serve in the cabinet is so asked? he shows no sign of following though on his obligation.
That is the issue that I think “burns” Trump supporters. Trump offered an olive branch. It is up to Cruz to take the branch, sometime before the convention. The main issue is to beat Hillary now, 15 other candidates are also hurt by their defeat.
Now if Cruz does not do that, it is a reasonable assumption that what he really wants is to have enough of his supporters withhold their vote so that Trump goes down to defeat. The implication is he wasn’t the field clear to run again in 4 years. If so that is a very selfish thing to do. On one issue alone, guns it means irreparable damage regardless of if you can get a principled conservative in 4 years late.
If you say he is simply offended...well I do not think that washes. Yes there were some harsh things said but some of the supposed insults do not seem that bad. Take the Heidi Cruz photo issue: what was the insult? All the re-tweet did was show a 45 year old woman was not as good looking as a picture of a 20 something year old super model. Well we all know that, most pictures of THE SAME WOMEN would show the 20 year old to be more attractive than the 45 year old version.. If I am being obtuse, please explain why that is a insult, every time I have asked no Cruz fan has been able to explain the insult, preferring to dismiss me with saying if I do not get it they cannot be bothered to explain.

I am aware that the MSM lies about candidates. They have been lying about Cruz for a long time.
I don’t trust Free Republic or any other site. As a IT consultant I am trained to doubt what everyone says until it has been verified directly by myself or collaborated by other sources. I don’t drink Kool-aid either from candidates, the GOPe, PACs or from the MSM.
