As far as United and American go, American was losing some money, but nothing they were worried about. The unions at United were already worried about furloughs because United was doing so poorly. Ditto what you said. I went to the site (in Canada) that this article came from and it is totally full of trash, including lots of Robert Fisk articles. They even have one story of how the Pentagon plans to attack the US to start a war with Cuba.

This is pure dis-information likely written in Cuba. The KGB used to be the source for this kind of crap back in the old days. I guess it keeps the tin foils tilted to the left happy, but no one with a brain is buying any of it.
