Hey, libertarians hate him too. Anyway JR was talking about Jackson Browne, the musician.

May there could be a forum strictly for the pro and cons of the CSA
where the posters could duel it out.
Same for those with "My God is better'n your god."

AFTR, I use the new 'search' next to the 'self-search' option, it works great. Test it, use Enron or Anthrax and see what the results are.

"My question is, would you rather it not be mentioned to a person if the thread already exists? Does it annoy you guys when it is pointed out as much as it annoys the person making the duplicate post?" I doesn't matter to the moderators one way or the other if duplicates are pointed out on a thread. If that is the practice you choose, it would be helpful if you pinged us. We would like to be notified if there is a duplicate. We don't always see all the posts, there are just too many to go through.

If the photos aren't trashy and meet the intent of FR.
To: Admin Moderator
I dont want it to be my practice, per se. I just see it often on threads that interest me, which is how I notice dulicates. Which is also how I wind up doing the same thing. Hey, why not make everyone a Moderator? ;)
To: Admin Moderator
Thanks for clearing that up for me!
To: Admin Moderator
Jim, thanks but!
Please try to stay on topic (politics)
I depend on this forum for all my breaking, national, domestic news. We're probably faster and a lot more accurate on domestic issues than any of the major networks.
If you limit this forum to only political news we'll lose one of our better member services.

Suggestion, do not use the entire title in your search. Choose a single significant word from the title to search on. It will usually get a hit if the article has already been posted. Any possibility that the search engine could be tweaked to provide a hit when the author of a piece is listed? That won't help with wireservice copy with no byline, of course, but it might cut down some duplication of the same article slugged with different or alternate heads in different sources.

Thanks for the flag, Tonkin. A point well taken. Mr. Robinson has a bit of the Rummy touch, IMHO...God bless 'em. I'm hoping it will spread throughtout the land 'til the Trial Lawyers shrivel in shame and head for the border under the piercing, yet knowing looks from their fellow Americans. (^:
Please don't change the Canteen. For our troops far from home (and other patriots suffering from idiot leftist press, "anti-American" overload, you guys are an oasis of decency. With the exception of FR investigative or "Freep" articles, we only have "vanities" to counter the mass of leftist headlines that must fill FR daily.
God bless you, Jim. You are, as always, a gentleman and fine host to your guests.

And, along these same lines, please use the original titles on your article posts. Do NOT edit the titles. Do NOT use "My Title" titles. This will also help to reduce the number of duplicates.
I understand your point. At the same time, the real title doesn't always describe what the article is about. Can we post the real title and then in parentheses give our title?

I'm so sorry - I didn't realize Buchanan was a conservative!

"And, while I'm thinking about it, QUIT trashing our conservative candidates" Hi guys. Hey Admin Moderator, you don't mean we "can't" disagree with a candidate right? I mean, if I like Bill Simmons for Gov more than Riordan, I can say so right?
For instance, I just saw where Haley Barbour is considering running for office. I don't happen to think he would serve conservatives well (Some extremely fishy dealings with China during his tenure as RNC Leader). And I also think if we just support someone cart blanche' because of political affiliation, then we are as bad as all those democraps who supported Clinton for the same reasons.
I'm just quantifying, because the above statement.. "could" be misconboobulated.. :o)
Big freepin hug and regards.. Mary Ann

it would be helpful if you pinged us. We would like to be notified if there is a duplicate. We don't always see all the posts, there are just too many to go through. Not only that.. but many times, duplicates are because the newspapers TITLE with their OWN TITLES. I've found (later and to my dismay, which is why I don't post articles any longer) That I will post from say my local newspaper.. to find that another paper titled it differently.
The moderators here do an excellent job. But there are so many posts.. that I've often wondered how the heck they keep up with it all.
They have saved my bacon from severe embarrassement in the past..and I'm eternally in love with them..and greatful :o)
Until I read this thread.. I never realized "pinging" them regarding a duplicate would be helpful.
To: Vets_Husband_and_Wife
The kind of trashing that I'm talking about is smearing a candidate with libel, slander, leftist propaganda, etc. Sure you can disagree or criticize or debate a candidate's positions/issues, etc., just don't slime the man with garbage. I don't think that's too much to ask.
Thanks, Jim
