"Welcome to the discussion forums of the Free Republic Network, a grass roots organization fighting for a return to constitutional government through research, education and activism." The absence of the word "Conservative" is conspicuous and disconcerting.

We can look into that but I believe the original thinking was that the phrase "a return to constitutional government" implied conservatism.

I hate that punk. I hope you guys keep the fire in the belly and take him down next time. I would love to see Bush campaign for a McShame challenger. Someone like JD or Matt Salmon.

I believe the original thinking was that the phrase "a return to constitutional government" implied conservatism. It does to you, me and the vast majority of FReepers. But, it seems there are some out there that have to be reminded of it in no uncertain terms.

Great slogan Bob!
I was struck the absence of the word "Conservative" in the greetings statement because of how many times I had to cut and paste the following to remind a poster just where he or she was.
Welcome!
Free Republic is an online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web.

You make a good point. Sometimes we take for granted people will know we are conservatives. We'll try to get it in as often as possible!
