You notice they're just amazed that I live in SF. Hehe. I'm not the only one that feels this way. I don't tell too many others in SF, but I have at least 3 female friends that feel that way here. 2 are Repubs. One is a dyed in the wool Dem/union person who hates illegal immigration and the gay agenda...."the times they are a-changing". Of course, it's *blasphemous* to think that way here, but I suspect a LOT MORE do here. I can't WAIT till Simon is elected!

"Homosexuals" are still genetically male or female. They are sterile. In genetics: XO (Turner syndrome), XXY (Klinefelter syndrome), XXX (poly-X syndrome), and XYY (Jacob syndrome). No matter how many X chromosones there are, any individual with a Y chromosone developes into a male. These abnormalities are so few, only one in thousands occur. I would agree with certain exceptions for CAIS and Mosaicism and yet a definite gender can always be determined, though not immediately, for these syndromes. There are some here who try and use abnormal sex differentiation syndromes to justify the practice of perversion for the so called transgendered even though those with ASDS have no more of a rate of homosexuality than the 2-3% of the general population.

Thus the biggest conclusion Americans should draw from the Rosie O'Donnell confessional is this -- that Ms. O'Donnell is a privileged adult who put her own feelings ahead of what even she believes would be in the best interests of the children, and who used her privilege and wealth to place children too young to object in an environment that two recent studies indicate will make them more likely to engage in the very high risk behavior Rosie hopes they won't. That's what SADs do. They're developmentally challenged and cannot think as a rational adult. Therefore it is typical for them to put their "I want it now" approach to life ahead of anything else.
I still doubt if Rosie is really a SAD. I think she is suffering from low ratings and needed to do something to generate some buzz.
Shalom.

O'Donnell's frank admission that she believes her own adopted children would be better off being raised by a married mother and father, bolstered by her hope that the children won't follow her example and engage in homosexual behavior themselves. "Would it be easier for (my kids) if I were married to a man? It probably would," O'Donnell told ABC News reporter Diane Sawyer. http://www.drudgereport.com/mattro.htm
She said it would be easier for them, not that they would be better off. There's a difference.
* The probability of violence occurring in a gay couple is mathematically double the probability of that in a heterosexual couple, write the editors of the National Gay & Lesbian Domestic Violence Network newsletter. http://www.afamichigan.org/releases/20010315a.htm
* The Journal of the American Medical Association reports that people with same-sex sexual behavior are at greater risk for psychiatric disorders including bipolar, obsessive-compulsive, and anxiety disorders, major depression, and substance abuse. http://archpsyc.ama-assn.org/issues/v58n1/abs/yoa9456.html
* The Institute reports that significantly higher percentages of homosexual men and women abuse drugs, alcohol and tobacco than do heterosexuals."
These three might be explained in part because of the harassment and hatred homosexuals face in society.

...Ms. O'Donnell is a privileged adult who put her own feelings ahead of what even she believes would be in the best interests of the children...Hardly surprising since homosexuals consistently show themselves to be the most self-centered people on the planet.

I have to admit, I am very, very torn about this subject. If it is a choice between Foster Care and a priviledged homosexual household, I will take the latter. Sorry. And also, God I am going to be flamed for this, I know many gay couples who are smart, loving, witty and would bring so much love and devotion to a child. Whereas, I know may straight couples who are selfish, immature and bring children into destitute situations.

A cool and detailed explanation. But people are slogan oriented. Let me suggest this one
: You can't change your sex; all you can do is mutilate your body.

You seem to be saying that being a homosexual should not automatically dismiss someone from adopting a child. I'm not sure if I agree. We're talking about human lives here. It's not like going to down to the SPCA to adopt a cat.
That said, I, like many on this forum, take these AFA studies for what they are--fundamentalist propaganda. They stop just short of saying that only god-fearing heterosexual couples should be allowed to adopt.
I agree that this part of Rosie's interview has been glossed over by just about everyone, including posters at FreeRepublic. Posters at previous threads about Rosie's interview seemed to only want to make dyke jokes and snicker like middle-schoolers.

So. . .a homosexual man beats up his 'partner' because society is too hard on him? Excuse me? That sounds like such drivel.

Someone who is constantly facing hardships in society is a bit more likely to be a domestic abuser, that's not really rocket science. When the economy goes down, wife beating goes up. Stress can lead to domestic abuse. I'm not excusing it, I'm explaining it.

Children are just political cannon fodder to these people. You can see it in other issues too.
