Bishops to address sexual-abuse issue

I am familiar with the phenomenon. A friend of mine was told point blank by a ranking member of a particular religious order that he was too conservative and too orthodox to pass the screening for admission to this order. I have known conservative and orthodox Catholics who were subjected to harassment, intimidation, hazing, name-calling and taunting by liberal clergy on Catholic campuses. I have seen diocesan officials subject faithful Catholics reporting gay and lesbian irregularities to smear campaigns in which they were depicted as disturbed "extremists."

I am angry at the Catholic hierarchy that has not acted despite easily documentable homosexuality and approval of same by their priests.However;I am extremely wary of those who are now trying to indict Cardinal Egan. I don't know for sure but I understand he followed a pretty liberal bishop in Bridgeport. It may have been that he was subject to the homosexual network's m.o.;that is,lie,sneak,stonewall and blackmail.

He would be a big one to knock over and it wouldn't be the first time that an innocent person was thrown to the sharks in the inexorable march of the enemy to enslave us peons. It is in times like these we need to be extra careful to not participate in the desttruction of those who are with us.

A good friend of mine, when he was discerning the priesthood, was one of those turned away in my diocese as he was "too conservative."

I myself worked for a "Catholic" organization (or what used to be) and for nearly 4 years was subjected to much harrassment, attitudes and persecution for my orthodoxy. It really wore me down. I'm only now beginning to recover I think.

Bravo! I agree. Perhaps we could coordinate a mass protest/demonstrations at every chancellery in the country.

That doesn't make the idea of praying for wretched pedophiles much easier, but there may in fact be some sort of mental illness involved here. They may belong in prisons, but their final destiny is under God's decision and will.

You are part of the problem, not the solution. Why don't you just pray for the unborn? It'd do just as well.

I used to think that way but got over it years ago. As you say its too late to keep a lid on it. All the closeted skeletons should be fully exposed to the general public. We need to ride the rapids over the falls on this one.

Maybe one of you excellent, savvy Catholics could help out this old geezer. Why in heaven's name is Richard McBrien still wandering around, spreading error, under the delusion that he is a Catholic theologian and priest without any discipline from his bishop? Why did it take organized protests and pressure to get crucifixes back up on the walls at Georgetown University? Why did bishops allow The Vagina Monologues to be staged at Notre Dame and Holy Cross? Why has it taken nearly thirty years for people to wake up about this queer disaster? Why do idiots regularly still promote the idea we need more modernism, liturgical minimalism and StarTrek spaceship architecture? Why are pre-Cana marriage prep programs run by psychobabbling flakes? Why are Enneagrams considered a spiritual tool? If all of this wasn't enough to get Rome involved, what will be?

I am friends with two ex-seminarians who experienced this in the Santa Fe and San Jose dioceses.

THE weirdest story I ever heard about seminary admissions went as follows: Young man X applies to the diocese's main seminary, etc. He has to undergo some type of battery of psychological testing. Is told by someone that he will not be admitted because he "hasn't had sexual intercourse yet." True story. His "affective development" was a little below par, I guess.
