Wake would become one of a handful in the state where students could learn about homosexuality, masturbation, specifics on how to use birth-control devices Morality aside, I can think of no greater waste of taxpayer money than teaching teenagers about masturation. What's next, giving swimming lessons to fish?

I was real close to letting my son talk me into letting him attend public school next year. No longer. Home school or bust!

The liberals in Raleigh will eventually contaminate the entire state, it is over for this once conservative state.

He's not missing much. Take this from a Leesville Road High School grad (North Raleigh).

This is something that the N&O's very own feminist, Ruth Sheehan, has been covering lately.
See her latest column about Ann Farmer, quoted above, at the link here: Sex ed and the crusader.
From the article:
"What started out as a natural concern for her own daughter, then 10, has grown into a mission.
At this point, Farmer's daughter, Jessica, is a high school senior and is being home-schooled.
But Farmer has not given up the fight."

I wonder why Ms. Farmer is home schooling her daughter?
Maybe so she can teach her according to the liberal sex-ed agenda. Guess she'll be able to put her back in the public school now.

My question about all this would be: What kind of things will the teachers be telling these kids about anal sex? Dont knock it until you try it! Yes, kids, I have anal sex all the time, very orgasmic! Be sure and give your partner the reach around while having anal sex!
No way on Gods (and yes, I firmly believe it is God's) green earth will my children learn sex ed from who knows who in a public school system.

My thoughts exactly, MKM!

Whether or not the board agrees with the recommendation is irrelevant. The fact that they're even debating it tells the story.
Government schools for ya.
To: mykdsmom
You see...they just keep moving the goal posts...when this is approved the next debate will be wether to allow sex on campus and live demonstrations...the whole thing is a sick amoral spiral.
Nobody even debates wether the schools should even be involved in this nonsense...No No....
Pathetic

Yeah, my wife is a kindergarten teacher at Wiley Elementary in Raleigh. She just interviewed for a 4th grade position at Padeia Christian academy in Cary. She got the job. I don't have to worry about my kids anymore.

To: Constitution Day
Why this near-obsession with sex ed? She put it to me simply: "I am outraged ..." Ohhh, boy. She's one of those people. Probly gets "outraged" when she can't take her daughter's sweaters back to Express, too.

"It is time for us to leave our political and religious differences at the door and look after the best interests of the students," said parent Ann Farmer.Yeah.
Like teach our children the intricacies of anal sex.
Yeah, right.
Perverts.
Dimwits.
They are revelling in the destruction of children's innocence.
Another good reason to remove your children from the government school system.
And work towards its ultimate dismantling.

If the board agrees, Wake would become one of a handful in the state where students could learn about homosexuality, masturbation, specifics on how to use birth-control devices and other topics now prohibited by the abstinence-until-marriage theme.Does not mention pro-life in this lead sentence. I wonder why? </sarcasm off-----

You can stop them if you really want to by picketing and showing up to all public meetings. Otherwise, they win.

LOL -
Those people, indeed!
A telling statement from the same article was "I am told that members of the Wake County school board cringe when they see her coming."
