My students asked me recently something about Michael Jackson - maybe did I listen to his music when I was a kid? - and I replied, "Yes, that was back when he was still black."

Lucky for me, they thought it was hilarious.

I remember back when he was black, I used to trade tiger eye marbles for pictures of the Jackson 5 and of the Osmond Brothers. And the teenybop magazines were always posting photos of Liza dating Desi Arnaz Jr., so I was jealous of her! Not anymore! My ignorance: I think I was 7 years old at the time. Her taste has sure ended up in the gutter.
