I'm also not going to turn The Arizona Republic into the community's gay-and-lesbian newspaper

Great! I hope he keeps that promise. If he turns out to be a fair and objective editor, fine with me. I don't care who shares his bed. However, if becoming managing editor is a means to an end - specifically, promoting the homosexual political and social agenda - then he deserves our criticism. Let's see what happens.

Why? Perversity is perversity. Who is the highest-ranking person who likes to drive hot needles into his body? There's a perversion involving only one person.

Why is it reported as a positive bench-mark that a perverted person attains success?

Can you say FREE REPUBLIC?

Much better analogy.

I agree it's silly. His sexuality should be a NONissue

The paper is providing that partner, John Sallot, head-hunting help to find a new job, a perk typically associated with executives who move with married spouses.

Uhh....I don't think he needs help in that area.

You just can't make this stuff up!

Randy Lovely will become the highest-ranking openly gay leader of a major metropolitan newspaper.

His mate, Lecherous Charming, will edit the Style section.

You might try The Tribune newspaper based in Mesa. I cancelled my subscription to The Republic last week.

Perhaps the difference occurs when two consenting adults are involved - just perhaps

I think you should add the word ONLY, as in "when ONLY two consenting adults are involved."

When a child or an animal is added, the difference is clear. And it is criminal.

Did I say it was not?

"Gee mom and dad, thanks a bunch."

I'm reminded of a fairly recent episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Lovely pointed to the fact that he's continued his fast rise despite being gay, and vocal, as proof that the industry is changing.

The newpaper industry is changing. Yes. It's been anti-gay for many years, but thanks to a long battle by Randy and his POSSLQ, the media much more tolerant to liberal views. Gays no longer fear being hounded out of the print media.</sarcasm>.

... and just one more reason why I wouldn't subscribe to that leftist rag.

Tho, I occasionally look in on the online version.
