To: Renatus
Renatus, There is no biblical or tradition foundation in the Church that calls homosexuals to be priests........WHICH IS NOT MY STRAWMAN,,,,,,,but what you were specifically talking about in your response to another above.
In the words of Renatus:
The question posed and your response
Could you tell us where in the Bible it says that God "calls" homosexual men to represent Him?
Chapter 5 in the Book of Hebrews.
To: Dr. Brian Kopp
Father John Trigilio is a very close and dear friend. Bishop Ademec's obvious reference to Father Trigilio in his responsive letter to you is quite unfortunate. ["I have more authority in this regard than does a priest from the Diocese of Harrisburg on the internet."] Aside from being unable to mention Father Trigilio by name, to then "report" him to our Bishop in Harrisburg tells much about the lack of authoritative support for his directive regarding genuflecting! Had he been able to refer you to written support for his position he certainly would have. His elitist response makes it evident to all that he believes himself to be "above the law". As Father Trigilio always does, he stated facts and references for his response to the inquiry. The Bishop responded by inferring that Father Trigilio's research, incredible knowledge and well-reasoned opinion is unworthy because he is a mere priest from Harrisburg. He also attacked you with his remark that he supposes you believe you have all the answers. Bishop Adamec can do no more than make an inferred and an actual ad hominem attack when he has been shown to be wrong in his directive. His defensive posture is quite evident in his response. I have learned that this is a sure sign that the individual knows he is wrong by refuses to admit it! Greater respect would have been gained by admitting his mistake and withdrawing his directive. But more importantly, why the constant desire to move away from greater reverence for the Eucharist? I recommend to the Bishop that he watch any Mass on EWTN to learn just how beautiful and spiritually fulfilling a more reverent approach to our Mass in general and the Eucharist in specific really is!! Let's not give up the fight!!
