Thank you for pointing this out. It took a good bit of reading to figure out where this was coming from. The link to ASA helped a ton. Thanks for posting...

When I was at Sara Lee, we had mandatory Diversity training. And it wasn't PC. One scene in the video showed a homosexual harassing a heterosexual. I was the most conservative person there and I had the best score on the test.
To: AppyPappy
of course, mandatory diversity training is different when the organization that is requiring your attendance is a private company (Sara Lee) rather than an arm of the government like U of AL.
I would love to have seen the video you were forced to view. sounds pretty humorous.

What exactly is Jane Elliot's "Blue Eyed"????
To: Alabama_Wild_Man
"The Late, Great, Bear Bryant".
May we observe a moment of silence....

For a full transcript of the notorious hate film Blue Eyed, see www.newsreel.org
Elliott's insulting and patronizing comments on Colin Powell are especially loathsome.
See www.alabamascholars.org for a link to the article from early 2000 in which Elliott used a federally funded diversity workshop to condemn George and Jeb Bush as racists and urged that all those who were present to vote against GOP candidates.

www.vdare.com has numerous very good reads on this subject.

Ever heard of the University courses (101-103) required for all freshman at Auburn? All diversity based. In other words, how to be politically correct.
This is not a popular opinion among many AU folks, but my take on the BOT fight boils down to whether Auburn will remain basically a land grant institution or become more liberal arts oriented. That's why I find myself on the BOT's side more often than not. WDE!

Does anyone have the necessary html skills to post these two documents on this thread? They are extremely damning. In the one dated February 28 President Andrew Sorensen states that any diversity training will not be mandatory. The other, issued by a College of Engineering supervisor on March 13, states that it is "mandatory" to attend. Quite a stark contradiction which has not yet been explained!

Bump for Freedom in Alabama. If not stopped at UA, mandatory "diversity training" will be coming next to a university of college near you.

Keep the pressure on. This nonsense must be stopped before it continues to spead.
To: au eagle
The course appears to be horrible. The Auburn faculty and alumni need to start showing some backbone and start fighting this nonsense which *can* (as FIRE has shown many times) be defeated.
Your other comments are unclear. You seem to indicate a willingness to tolerate courses of this type as a means to preserve Auburn's current status. Did I misunderstand you?
To: Austin Willard Wright
Seems the University of Alabama wants to raise good Leftists. Hardly a surprise in view of the Left's totalitarian hegemony over American campuses. Its good to see the Foundation For Individual Rights stepping in to slay the dragon. Its about time.

The arrogance of the PC "diversity training" faculty advocates, especially Wythe Holt who first threatened to investigate the ASA, is incredible. Here is a sample of his method of argument:

Somehow I get the feeling that this is not the first email you have recieved on this subject. > You are incorrect that I am a liberal.
Perhaps you could fill me in on exactly what you feel you are so that I may "judge rightly" as the Bible puts it. > You are incorrect that the First Amendment is under attack.
Did you bother to send the whole email to the people you cc your email to? I feel they could judge themselves better with more information. I > need not here rehearse the many ways in which speech is allowed > to be regulated under the First Amendment, even the speech of > tenured full professors.
What do you know, we agree on something. I do like the fact you inserted "tenured" into your reply. However, as far as I am concerned, even > bigots have free speech rights.
Yes, I also agree, though our definition of who the bigot may be may differ. They just cannot legitimately call a > black student a "nigger" or say something in class like "the only > good Indian is a dead Indian" without reasonable consequences.
I agree, though your choise of words without the original email I sent to you attached, makes it look like I said those words or implied them. Again, I ask you be a little more respectful and make it very clear I did not come close to any such statement by attaching a copy of the original email to those you cc'ed (carbon copied). (also those whom you may of blank carbon copied). I also feel your choise of examples were one sided. Sorta like the author of "Blued Eyed" would of picked. Words are a two way street whether you like it or not. > You are incorrect, so far as I am concerned, in your definition of > "racism." In the kingdom of the blind, I guess the one eyed would be king... You need to brush up on your spelling. Thank you, that little spell check tool would be quite useful (but it seems to be on the blitz of late for some reason). I didn't know I would also be subjected to the spelling nazi (or is that "tenured" spelling nazi). Yours most sincerely,
> Wythe Holt >
Thank you for your return email,
Most respectfully Lowell xxxxxxxxxx.
P.S. I have tried to attached copies of this email to those whom you cc'ed. FYI..
