It is the responsibility of citizens to establish a common culture and common bonds.

I like your post and I love this example!

American I will run each Saturday through Sept. 11, 2002, and feature different facets of the American story.

Ray Lora lists Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee as his heroes--not what you'd expect from a Hispanic man born 58 years ago in New York City.

There's nothing stereotypical about the Loras. He's a former federal marshal, Secret Service agent and schoolteacher. His wife, Christine, is Scottish, and he describes their four sons as "Spotsylvania County rednecks."

Lora teaches diversity at the Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy and shares his history. "I'm proud to be Hispanic, but I'm more Virginian than anything else."

Well, geography includes more than the study of climates and landforms. Ethnically, the islands have a large black element as well as northern south America. Mexico and Central Ameria are largely Amerind-mestizos and of a very different sort from those of the Andes. The rest of South America is a much different mix. Amerinds in the Mountains and Portuguese, African, Germany and Italians elsehere. The Spanish language is the unifying factor, except in Brazil, as is the Catholic religion.

I'm not a professional in geopolitics but it's my hobby. I would have arranged the regions this way:

(1) AngloAmerica - Canada, US, Belize (strong British influence)
(2) MiddleAmercia - Mexico, CentralAmerica (strong mestizo)
(3) CarribeanAmerica - Carribean, northern South America (strong African)
(4) SouthernAmerica - western South America (Spanish non-Portuguese)
(5) Brazil (strong Portuguese)

Don't forget Chile and Argentina, which are ethnically Euro-America (with more Italians than Spanish in Argentina) Otherwise, OK.

(5) decide on a common history to be taught to all children Boy, this would be hard. The Ivies and other brooders of the elite don't even teach the subject anymore.

Why should anyone visit the wife of the commie?

Why aren't the files open NOW?

Why?

I think you know why.

Re: Liberal Multiculturalism, Moral Relativism & the Decline of Civilization

Pat has a few points. But, as usual, he gets it only about half right. There have been a number of different subcultures and regional cultures in American society among the white population who originally came from Europe. True, they rallied around the flag, the constitution, the English language, and Western Christian morality for most of our history. The spiritual and moral drift away from Christianity may be more significant than a preoccupation with foreign immigrants. Non-white peoples in the Third World have not caused the moral drift in American society. Whether that drift and cultural decline will continue at present rates for the next century or so is a debatable question. There have been cultural revivals and population explosions in previous periods of the history of Western civilization. Addressing the moral decay of American society may be more relevant than placing the emphasis on Third World population levels. Still, as always, Pat provokes debate on controversial and strategic topics even when he opens himself to the charge of xenophobia, racism, and nativism. At any rate, he still has the right to speak his mind on immigration policies and the fate of Western civilization.

The idea that Western Christian culture should be honored, celebrated, and promoted by our institutions can be defended without falling into the trap of sounding like a racist (as liberals accuse Pat). That said, the apocalyptic imagery of barbaric Muslims invading and dominating Western civilization is one that, after 9/11, perhaps many of the liberal secular humanist kooks promoting population control among Americans and Europeans should ponder. The idea that all cultures and civilizations are morally equal, one of the key tenets of the moral relativism propagated at Ivy League universities even when many also seem to think that Western culture is the source of all evil and oppression, should be challenged. Americans should also examine how their own respect for human life has been diminished by liberalism, scientism, and secular humanism.

At any rate, a ridiculous prediction that European/Caucasian people will only be 2% of the worlds population 50 years from now smacks of the book The Population Bomb in the 70's

Especially that Iranians/Pakistanis/Indians are Caucasians.
