It was a pure Mossad operation and they got 9 of the 11 targets plus a wrong'n.
A case study of the operation can be found HERE
Thank you so much for the heads up, Tonk! Hugs!!!
I want them to hide in dark caves and holes in the earth, shivering with terror whenever they hear the roar of diesel engines because the tales of their ancestors talk about metal monsters crawling over the earth, spitting death and destruction.
I want their mothers to be able to admonish them with "If you don't behave, the Pale Destroyers will come for you", and that will be enough to reduce them to quivering obesience.
I want the annihilation to be so complete that their mythology will tell them of the day of judgment when the stern gods from across the sea .. the powerful 'Mericans .. destroyed their forefathers' wickedness.
However, I am of the school that believes you don't win a war by dying for your country ... you win it by making the other poor dumb b@st@rd die for his. (Kudos to Georgie Patton)
I'm not sure that I agree with you that I am "rejoicing" at the inevitable result of civilian casualties. I firmly believe that what it will take to end the war and destroy the terrorists and their sympathizers (who, in this case, loosely hold the identification of "civilian") is carnage and destruction on par with that inflicted on the Germans and on the Japanese to cause them to give in. And remember ... the Japanese didn't give up until two nukes were dropped on them; the fire-raids and strangulation by blockade didn't do it ... fire and brimstone did.
Well this comment certainly comes across as saying that you wish to deliberately inflict suffering on innocents:
"I want their children's children's children's children to cower and cringe in fear whenever they hear the sounds of jet engines overhead because their legends tell of fire from the sky."
And remember ... the Japanese didn't give up until two nukes were dropped on them; the fire-raids and strangulation by blockade didn't do it ... fire and brimstone did.
That's a judgement about necessary tactics (and is debatable at that), not about whether it's a good inspiration for neo-pagan poetic bloodlust such as what you wrote in your #51.
Kudos to Georgie Patton
Glad you like him. You should also know that he routinely condemned the strategic bombing of civilian targets.
A LET'S KICK SOME TERRORIST A$$ BUMP....

We WILL NOT Falter
And WE WILL NOT Fail....
