"For every competent home-schooler out there, there are 300 who are not, using it for an excuse to keep their kids home," Guardia told WorldNetDaily.

Well, that's probably about right...

EXCEPT THE EXACT OPPOSITE!!!

This is a chilling story. I have bad words in my head. These monsters can't educate a Memorex cassette tape, but they want POSSESSION of our children. Curse them.

Look into the mirror, look deeply into the mirror...

"You are entitled to your opinion of course, but to think that problems such as this exist only in California is beyond stupidity."

You obviously have a reading comprehension problem. No one ever said the problems exist ONLY in California. The major problem with California vis-a-vis the rest of the states is that it ORIGINATES much of this bullbleep.

"I for one am increasingly disgusted with the constant put downs of our fine state."

Tough.

"If you dont like California, fine, dont live here, dont visit here, dont buy products from here and ignore us if you like."

We would LOVE to--but California doesn't keep its garbage within its own boundaries. See above comment about the cancer spreading to other places. Some Californicators get disgusted with their own mess, move to other states, and then start the same stuff ALL OVER AGAIN. Too stupid to learn from their mistakes, evidently.

"BUT SHUT UP !"

Simply put, no.

For the record, and too all the California detractors out there.

My kids go to this very same school district.

My oldest is a JROTC Officer, straight A student and active in community and volenteer work.

If you insist on saying that ALL Public Schools are bad, you are really beyond having a conversation with.

Lumping everyone who goes to or is involved with public schools is stupidity, just like lumping every resident of a state.

Cheers,

See, we homeschoolers contribute to the decline of public education.

Good. Now, if only something could come along to finish the job...

To put the blame on California for whacky ideas is a real strech.

Granted, we have our share, So...Washington DC, Connecticut, New Jersey, Ney York (City and State) Minnesota, Wisconson, Florida and all the rest of the left wing wacko states are simply following our lead.

Yeah, uh huh, thats it, a vast California conspiricy to turn the country in to Left-Bots.

Cheers,

An apropos quote from Adolph Hitler....”Let me control the textbooks and I will control the state. The state will take youth and give to youth it’s own education and it’s own upbringing. Your child belongs to us already, what are you?”

Sandra and David Sorensen are heroes!

If you have ever seen the California state constitution, which can be found on the web, it's a complete mess. One of the worst-written, most-meddled-with of all state constitutions. It has the look and feel of a document that's been repeatedly hacked away at by legislators, and has none of the elegant, grand design that many other state constitutions have.

Also, California is one of only a few states to have no Right to Keep and Bear Arms article in its state constitution, which should tell you something. (New York is another such state.)

I am already a member of HSLDA. I just pulled down the paperwork to join CHN. I called CHN and asked them about this case in San Juan Unified School District. They report that the Disctrict is now saying that they are dropping the case. THAT DOES NOT MEAN THIS IS OVER. The Sorensen's attorney has not been notified of same, so this may be a ruse. KEEP THE PRESSURE ON THE DISTRICT STAFF. Let them know that this is going National.

My older son's approach to math is logical and not PC. So he had no feelings about numbers and their outcome in mathematical problems/equations. His concern was doing the math correctly and getting the correct answers.

Your comments are very interesting. Our older son was 2 classes ahead of his younger brother. For the most part he was exposed and taught real math. His younger brother was exposed to the bs that you joke about in your reply.

We did not realize what was happening to our younger son. By the time we realized, he was in hs, hated math and did terrible if he had a real math teacher. He had to learn math the hard way in reality when he was graduated from high school. He is now good in basic math, but there is no thanks to the touchy feeling stuff that he got in Marin county and obviously later in Sacramento during his first 4-5 years of school. By then the damage had been done to him!
