As the rally wound down and the Senators were being whisked away, your humble correspondent and his able sidekick ReaganGirl took the opportunity to speak with some of the principles involved with the event, including Barbara Ledeen of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Kay Daly from the Coalition for a Fair Judiciary, Kerri Houston of the American Conservative Union, and The Honorable Steven Thayer, Director of Legislative and Legal Policy from the American Conservative Union. The ACU folks were very appreciative of our efforts to promote todays rally and our earlier efforts to raise awareness against Campaign Finance Reform. Were appreciative too -- the strategic partnership between the ACU and the FR Network gives us an inside track on issues and legislation important to the entire Freeper community.
As we talked with Kay Daly, her baby was doing an excellent impression of Senator Daschle. She thinks we should start concentrating pressure on senators from the Judiciary Committee and some of the swing vote states such as Georgia, Louisiana, Nebraska, and Florida. We agree. The FR Network will work with the ACU and other organizations to coordinate these efforts, and well provide links and information to the Forum as they become available.
All in all, it as a beautiful day in DC and by comments I gathered, the rally was well attended. I estimated the crowd at 100 plus a sizable press contingent. The only other Freeper I noticed was Angelwood as she scurried through the crowd handing out her telltale stickers that read, Full Senate Vote for Judicial Nominees.

Thanks for the report and the PICTURES! Looks like a whole lot of people were there. Any press reports of the rally? (No, I don't expect any, but hope springs eternal.)
Thanks to all you freepers who attended.
