My Chow waits until I sit down and then throws himself into my arms. While I pet and greet the dog the bird is saying "you're a good boy, I love my boy, I do, I do." and he will sing "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are grey."

Love that scene!

Gotta love those Bichons! I've got two, but they'd never sit still for a picture like that.

My next dog will be a Bichon. I've never heard an unkind thing about them.

Bichons are easy to train, don't shed (which means they have to be groomed every two or three months), and are absolutely loyal.

But you won't get one for free.

Wonderful thread, as I sit here being 'hit' by my Mini Pin, Thor.

We have a Toy Poodle named Molly who is our pride and joy. She had cancer surgery two weeks ago and now the vet suspects she has pancreatitis. She has to be on an IV, and we just came home from visiting her.

God bless you and Molly. When I've got a sick pet, it's like having a sick kid. And I end up spending the same amount of money.

Just remember: no dog will ever take Molly's place, but another dog will make a new place in your heart for her (I say "her" because males are pains in the butt and I'll never have another one).

Oops! Spenser felt very bad that I didn't mention his name. He is a charcoal cat with yellow eyes! He came to our door as a kitten last year and decided that we would make good parents...

Three of the six cats we own adopted us. And, true to form, they're the most loving of the bunch.

Animals that are saved from death or near-death experiences seem to know that, and are grateful for the rest of their lives.

Yes, I agree about strays being lovable. Spenser is a funny cat who likes to play with the plastic that tears off the gallon container of milk. He puts them underneath throw rugs and turns the rugs upside down. When he's finished playing with the plastic, he shoots it under the stove. Then he begs us to get it for him!

One of my cats always goes outside through the patio door. If the weather is bad, she goes to the front door to go out. I guess she thinks if she goes out through a different door the weather will be different.

Clearly, you are to blame for the weather not being to her liking. :)

Here is the best and latest procedure on How To Bathe A Cat:

I missed the last part where it's signed "The Dog."
Oh, my poor kitty will never speak to me again.

I hope your dog recovers...I lost my momma cat last year to renal failure...She adopted me out of a house with 5 tenants in it to have her kittens with me...Raised them on the corner of my futon...When I came home, every night, the whole litter of 5 kittens would charge down the hallway in the same flying wedge formation and climb up my bluejeans and I'd walk down the hall with the busiest pants in seattle...

When you have a Great Animal...its a gift...You cherish it as long as you're in its presence and when it moves on, you thank your lucky stars you got to share its life...

I love that picture of you with the kittens! We just got back from visiting Molly, and she was very perky so we felt good about that.

The best moment with those kittens was in the mornings when I woke up with them doing maneuvers on the bed...There was a big tubby boy who learned how to run while I was watching him...He started down at my feet and ran up the futon beside me and I saw his pupils get wide as pie plates as he realized a:he was running and b:he didn't know how to STOP! and he ran right into the edge of my pillow, ears forward...buried his face right in the pillow and then bounced back onto his butt...I had to choke on my laughter to keep from scaring him...He was so shocked!

That sounds like me! I am always cleaning and changing litter boxes, and vacuuming and cleaning the furniture because of the hair. The newest cat I just couldn't resist; someone found him and he is so sweet and around a year old and already neutered. He is HUGE and has lots of hair! He is a beautiful cat though and so friendly.

The little dogs are no work, and chihuahuas don't run up a huge food bill! It would be less work with less animals, but I do love them so much.

My cat says I may take out a few minutes to send a message regarding his greatness! (Maybe he'll take his claws out of me if I do...)

Seriously, my cat runs to the door whenever I get home, howls uncontrollably until I pet him, and lies on my chest and head butts me while I watch tv.
