Just wanted to let you know that we brought Molly home, and she is getting stronger! I'm feeding her a little chicken babyfood every couple of hrs, and she really likes it. She seems to be relaxed. Thanks for your concerns...

Be sure to get more pictures of her! You can never have enough! Thanks for the update DR S...I don't know anything about pancreatitis, is there a chance that she'll get past it? BTW, I did the in home IV fluid thing for my momma cat for almost 5 months before she faded...It WORKS! If you ever run into that situation...Back to your duties, Molly is being happy for you, too!

Glad to hear it. We've got one at the vets tonight; Mims was really lethargic this morning; she acted as if she had fever or something.

Vet couldn't find anything. Blood tests and x-rays all clear, so he's rehydrating her tonight and we'll get her in the morning.

Like I said, animals are like kids now that ours are gone, and they cost nearly as much. (They don't ask for car keys, though).

My vet checked her blood levels to confirm pancreatitis, and they turned out to be normal. He said it's very difficult to diagnose, and she could actually have had it. The surgeon said that Molly lost a lot of blood during surgery, and her red blood cell count is low but improving. Being on the IV all those days seems to really have helped because she's keeping down the baby food. I'm happy with her progress!

Sorry to hear about Mims. Rehydrating might help a lot! Hope she's feeling better in the morning.

Over my lifetime, I have had so many different pets, that I feel truly blessed...dogs, of various and mixed breeds, cats, rabbits, fish, birds, chameleons, turtles, and even some wonderful loving rats...I just love animals, and love being surrounded by them...

My husband and boys, as well, were always most happy when we had a houseful of pets...

Today, the hubby and I are empty nesters, as happens to all parents...but pets are still a must...altho, I am down to just one pet right now...a great big, wonderful, hairy, fluffy, Himalayan kitty named Dizzy...he is the current pet love of my life...and the hubby loves him as well...our little home may no longer have the children around, but we will always have at least one pet...

Please give Molly a bit of extra loving from her friend Linda in Florida and tell her I wish her well.

I certainly will! (We lived in Orlando yrs ago but are back in PA.)

I was inspired by your sacrificial couch story! I have a broken lazy boy that my cats are wrestling on right this minute, covered in catnip!

Catnip on the upholstery? Sounds like a thwarted attempt with oregano to make Lemon Chicken a la Mediterranean. BTW did you know that in Greek oregano means, "joy of the mountain?" &;-)

Depends on how good you pick partners, I guess... and what kind of a relationship you're looking for. But a relationship between humans compared to an interspecies relationship is kind of like comparing apples and oranges to me. Both are great but for differing reasons.
