You're being sarcastic, right? Right?......Schools today have kids keep journals....she was just "journaling" her feelings.......they get what they ask for.

Schools today have kids keep journals
What for? Well, actually I know why, but what EXCUSE do they use to pry into young minds? What is the educational value of revealing one's private thoughts and moments?

In a country where it "depends on what the word is means" and the meanings of words are twisted everyday by the same PC crowd that run the public schools, do we need to take
literly the doodlings of an 11 year old girl?
If the arrow had been drawn through the teachers heart instead of her head would that make everything all better?

More to the point the parents shouldn't be teaching their child to draw her hate instead of speaking her hate.. That's like telling a kid it's ok to get so angry you punch a hole in the wall because it's better than knocking your teachers teeth out. Perhaps they should teach the kid that if she gets a D on a test she should blame herself and study harder!

Wanna get out of class?
Just draw a cartoon.

HAHA that show has some of the most ridiclous stuff on it. In any case I think it came more from an epsiode of Samarai Jack.

Is there some difference between the two that I'm missing here?

That's a bunch of crap and you know it. I drew all kinds of battle stuff but I never would get angry and draw stick figures dying on the back of a Test! How stupid is this kid to deface a test anyways.. I blame the parents for teaching their kid to write out violence instead of acting on it. Kid should learn some manners and learn to study harder and blame herself for being dumb.

Somebody's doodling the teacher? Huh?I'm not going to touch that one, but it was my first thought.

According to the article, the kid didn't turn the test back in to the teacher with the "threatening" picture on it. She didn't circulate it to her friends. It was spotted by another teacher in the girl's binder. What the kid does with her own returned test paper should be her business alone.

Becca's parents, Philip and Barbara Johnson, denied the school's contention the drawings were "terrorist threats." Which means the school officials classified the drawing AS a terrorist threat! Every time I think teachers in public schools can't get any dumber than they are now, I see something like this. Thanks NEA.

An arrow through a heart means love.

Agreed but nonetheless the blame should be brought to bear on her and her parents. The teacher wasn't sifting through her stuff.. happened to see it. Are they going overboard? Defiently. Are the parents out of their mind to teach their kid to draw violence instead of acting on it? Absoultely.

"That's my way of saying I'm angry," Becca said, adding she meant no harm to the teachers Wait a minute. WHY is she taking out her anger on the teacher. Who was at fault for her getting a D on the test. If others in the class got A' B's & C's Duh!!! Maybe she should draw a picture of herself with an arrow in her head.

There is no blame.

He apparently became upset when he was asked to share his crayons.
This happens to me att the time . . . I have my crayons arranged according to physical spectrum and I become VERY cross when they are returned to me in the wrong order. I no longer share them, and if back in a corner I will stab, with a pencil, anyone tries to use them!
To: Nathan Jr.
They call it "journal" but it's for "writing" exercises, but they are encouraged to write about their "feelings." I saw 1st graders in action, and it continues now in my son's 2nd grade, although I'm not hearing the "feelings" aspect as much from his new teacher.

Another teacher spotted the doodle in the girl's binder Tuesday and reported it, prompting the three-day suspension. When do they find the time for grading papers between all the conditioning they must be undergoing to become such Good Citizens?
