Hey Kristinn, How kewl was that Freep yesterday??? We went into the Hilton to grab an early dinner as I was famished from driving down from Philadelphia. We sat in the bar area as Asa Hutchinson, Matt Drudge, the morning guy at CSpan (not Brian Lamb) and several others came our way. So many of these women walked like fullbacks in their gorgeous gowns - like they were NOT used to dressing up at all. When we were coming out of the front door to rejoin, you we were almost at the corner and President Bush's motorcade came roaring down the street. Right in front of us. We waved of course - too cool. You guys are so much fun. Isn't Begala a dork??? I'm soooo glad you guys really ragged on him - and he was STUCK. Had to hear it all. Haaa haaaa Great Job you guys and gals.

Heavy mist????
My sister Ann, (second from the left in the picture, holding "News not Spin") came down from Connecticut to join me in her first freep. Ann has not registered - yet - and isn't even a lurker, but after this experience, she is about ready to get on board. She expected to be holding a sign, but what she didn't expect was to be helping dress and applying make-up to a hooker -- on the streets of Washington DC! (And -- helping to undress same hooker!) She has to do a lot of explaining to her family!
We received many thumbs up, from passing cars, city busses, tour busses and -- even from some in tuxes. The one 'tux with the finger' had a rounded chorus of "Meanspirited, arrogant, condescending liberal" following him as he walked away from us.
I was interviewed by some young woman with a mike, who identified herself from some newswire group. The name didn't mean anything to me. She asked the usual question "What are you doing here?" I explained the groups history and purpose, saying what we wanted fairness in reporting. She asked for something specific and I told her that I wasn't going to go into specifics, but that it was there, sometimes subtle sometimes blatant, and there was also bias by sins of omission. She then jumped right into the Israeli/Palestinian problem. I told her that there was a perfect example of media bias -- The so-called massacre in Jenin. We went back and forth on this whole thing -- she saying that the massacre was not disproved and I saying the bodies found, proved they were from war casualties not a deliberate massacre. She also blamed Israel for not allowing the UN to get in there to see for themselves. I told her that the UN pulled out because there was NO massacre and it had been proven. This person was showing just what we were trying to fight against, but she just couldn't see how biased she, herself, actually was!
?"Heavy mist"? or not --- we got our point across to all who saw our signs, and made a really fun Freep totally worthwhile!.
(Psst---Sauropod --- I hope you didn't get yourself in trouble before you got home. It would have been a little difficult to explain why you were wearing fish-net stockings under your jeans!! LOL!)

This is great. On FNS they showed a clip of a video that Bush prepared, and it was hysterically funny. On Cokie and Sam, they showed Bush just saying a couple of lines that were not that funny.
They still go gaga over Clinton, and they devoted so much time to his humor. The FReep is perfect.

Who was the "finger" liberal in the tux??? How come nobody has told us his name??

Are you the well-dressed couple in the middle? If so, my compliments! You added balance which the left cannot argue against. I suspect they believe right wingers are all knuckle-dragging KKK types and you blew their assumptions all to heck!
To: sauropod

Great job, Freepers!
To: kristinn

To: Humidston
No, we didn't get in any pictures, but thanks for the compliment anyway. If any of you ever have a chance to get into a FReep action - DO IT. You will meet the nicest people -it's a great time and it's fun to put names to faces. Uh...well some faces stand out and then some bazoooooms stand out. LOL

None of us knew who the "finger liberal" was. I have never seen him before. He was about 6'1" and stocky, very dark hair, goatee with gray in it, olive skin. But we all knew that he should be called clymer. I called after him, "Really thoughtful commentary, sir! A lot of class, too."
