Washington is still dithering in the wake of Goth rocker Ozzy Osbourne, whose dark star rose above the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner on Saturday night to fixate press and politicians alike.

He was rude. He was endearing. He swore, he mumbled, he stood on his chair. Mr. Osbourne inspired huge amounts of appreciative prose in the aftermath from journalists giddy over pomp, circumstance and studied misbehavior.

Can I be the first to call Matt Drudge a liar?
Do any of us really believe that Lynne Cheney would blurt out any of those reported remarks?

She has too much tact to do so.

"This reminds me of the time that [wrestler] the Rock visited the Republican National Convention back in 2000," noted a Washington political observer.

This visit from the Rock motivated three friends of my son to vote for the first time. And none of them voted for Gore.

Mrs. Cheney was "embarrassed" over the fact that Washington's power elite rose on its hind legs to laud Mr. Osbourne,...

It's possible she was but she has too much class to say so in public.

I'll have to agree with you on this, if Ozzy agrees with 90%, I'll (gulp) take Reagan's advice and overlook the 10%.

Bush should have said he'd be inviting Ronnie James Dio next year. He's Sabbath's best singer (by FAR) and not a doofus like Ozzy. I still think it was a brilliant pitch to the younger crowd to do this however.

What's ol Ronnie been doing lately. The albums he had done with Black Sabbath were kick ass. After he left,Jim Dandy of Black Oak Arkansas was considered a likely replacement. That would have been interesting.
