What say you of this quote?

"Those rights not delegated to the federal government by this Constitution, nor denied by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people."

The only NASCAR event I ever attended was the Atlanta 500 years ago. I had a fantastic time just being there - I can't imagine being behind the wheel. Kudos to you sir.

I thought the states were comprised of the people.

I was interested in why you think states have no rights - your endorsement of the 14th clearly explains that.
Good Day, sir.

Thanks again. I went to a Talladega race. Half the fun was driving down there because once we hit the middle of Tennessee the night before, half the people on the interstate were going to the race and they're honking, hollering, with their flags waving and their windows shoe-polished up. Fun drive.

Well, it's their money; They earned it. And while they are here, they come to understand why America was the first country on earth to use the phrase "to make money". In their native countries, money was something to be "gotten". Maybe that idea will stick in their heads. (Many Americans could use a refresher course in that area as well.)

Anyway, how is that different that what Wal-Mart does? ...or Auto-Zone...or GE...? They all take money from Americans and send it out of the country, along with American jobs.

You and WhiskeyPapa have earned a status of normally not to be replied to and I won't except to say that I have met Jaffa and I have met real historians and Jaffa isn't one. You, I believe, are an attorney. So have I been an attorney before retirement. If you really believe, with John Marshall and the most scurrilous political poltroons of the SCOTUS throughout its history that the Founding Fathers ordained the almighty SCOTUS (or any other court) to sit as an ongoing Constitutional Convention without necessity of referring their drastic revisions of our law (busing, gun control, abortion, homosexual lib, resurrection of Reconstruction by judicial fiat, the driving of God from public schools and His replacement by secular humanism as the prohibited but universal state religion imposed on kids) and other perverse opinions to the general public for "the consent of the governed", then you learned your law school lessons well.

On the other hand, that means that you checked your common sense at the door, decided to ignore history and, for whatever fee income you generate thereby, you are willing to live on your knees before tyrants in black robes. That's OK for you and perhaps yours, but I have no desire for such a life of submission. Neither did Patrick Henry or the non-Federalist founders. Nor did John Adams and some of the Federalist founders. That the Supreme Court's worst elements purport an inability to read the English language as evidenced by their respective "opinions", does not change their duty or the law.

You and I have gone round and round on Civil War threads on this stuff and I simply do not find your mind or opinions worth engaging. This post will serve as a permanent expression of reasons why. You will find that I am as capable of ignoring you as you are incapable of reading the constitution AS WRITTEN. I have no desire to waste bandspace exchanging insults.

Anyone who is actually interested in the facts can contact Dr. Fleming, whom I know and trust factually despite certain policy differences. He has forgotten more than you are likely to know judging from your posts.

If you want me to answer here, you can answer my previous questions as to just what makes you think that you are conservative and why should Freepers not regard you as a liberal disrupter here. I wore out a keyboard asking you those on previous threads. For obvious reasons you refused to defend or even assert your credentials, if any.

I recognize no social obligations whatsoever to liberals who are, by definition, in the business of jeopardizing my life, liberty, property, Church and future of my children. I am not about to bootlick the Supreme Court. What makes your boots more lickable?

If I was not tentative as to the Fort Pillow incident, I should have been. I realize that it is a matter of controversy. IF AND ONLY IF Forrest ordered 300 unarmed blacks in Union uniforms who were prisoners of war to be summarily executed, it constitutes a stain on his reputation. One cannot imagine such an action by Robert E. Lee or either Johnston or John Bell Hood or Ambrose Powell Hill or James Longstreet or Jeb Stuart and most certainly not by Stonewall Jackson and, it must be said, it would be hard to imagine such behavior by most Union officers, save Sherman and Sheridan. The capacity of Union propagandists to deny the truth has been most impressive.

That is a very long winded way of saying that you have nothing to support your bullsh*t answer.

But how about George Pickett? He hanged 22 Union POWs in February 1864.

That's OK. I understand that it is so much easier for you to simply pontificate and not have to worry about explaining what you say. You may ignore me if you wish, I shall lose no sleep over it. And you can give your opinion of what the Constitution means until the cows come home and I promise that I won't butt in. But continue to post outrageous lies like you did in Reply 80 and I'll continue to call you on it every time. Do we understand each other?
