Demosthenes was a sexual pervert, for that matter. You take leadership where you can get it.

I always was a big supporter of Ronald Reagan. But here in the Netherlands we don't have anything you can really compare to him. Or any Republican.
I used to vote for the CDA, Christian Democrats (conservative). Down in the south of the Netherlands most people do vote CDA.
But then Pim Fortuyn came along. He was the first politician I was proud to vote on. He didn't lie, he didn't betray us. He was honest about everything. Also many of his standpoints were what I also believe. Not everything, but so many of them.
Fortuyn was a big supporter of Israel, and I am too. He was the first one to scream that out loud, unlike other politicians.
Fortuyn came and he became the voice of the people, from all stand or thoughts. He became our hope.
We shall carry on and follow the path the showed to us, towards the light.

Today there was a service in the Rotterdam Cathedral. Tens-of-thousands of people came and applauded and trhowed flowers. My nation lost it's greatest leader ever.

Fortuyn was a victim of demonization by pejorative. The same thing happens here in the USA. Note how often conservatives such as Tom DeLay are described in the media as "Extreme Right-Wing" or as "Far-Right." The purpose here is to pejoratively place the victim outside the boundaries of political consideration without actually having to address the issues. Ironically the assassin of Fortuyn has yet to be described as a "leftwinger" despite the fact that he is one. Same is also true of the Mailbox Bomber who is a leftist whacko but none of the media here has yet described him as a leftist.

Some Dutch politician also attended the service. Wim Kok, 'our' prime-minister also did. But they entered the Cathedral from the back and left that way. The had to sneek out of the back while in front of the Cathedral thousands of people applauded and shouted 'Pim Fortuyn' for more than 20 minutes.

I hope the dutch people squeeze their PM's nuts good & hard over this.
