"A Barrett .50-caliber rifle with a round that can rip through a car's engine block like Oscar Goodman through a martini?"
Is this guy and idiot, or what!
To: mamelukesabre
Long story, I actually open up with a M-79 upon hearing a "silenced" Swedish K( our guys ) and thinking it was a rifle shot( their guys ). Alls well that ends well.

I've SEEN what a .50 API round can do to an engine block. Good simile, actually. It ain't pretty.

If I could go down the the local gunshop and buy a silencer for a pistol, I'd be target shooting in my BASEMENT! A nice little ruger .22 semi auto pistol with a silencer and sub sonic ammunition would make a great indoor plinker.

This was a Chevy 409. Absolutely criminal waste of a big block.

Especially a classic like that.
Unless this act transpired 30 years ago ;-)

Further proof of the perversions of America. Turnning this country into a helmet wearing, 4 cylinder driving, toilet water drinking crew of pantywastes and limpwrists. Don't even get me started on low volume flush toilets........

GUN-control is hitting your target. The phrase you're looking for is victim-disarmament.

Well, you get a pass, but only if you rebuild it in the livingroom during the NFL playoffs.

Visited a gentleman that had the ultimate .22 pistol range in his basement -- A nice bullet trap and a closed circuit TV set up to show the target so you didn't have to squint through a spotting scope. Target practice wasn't loud either, he was a Class II Manufacturer. (Machine Guns & Suppressors)

The original "big block." I( had a buddy with a fifty eight bel air Impala with a 348 and a six pack). It was a real nice rod when we finished with it.

Apparently this guy subconsciously realizes that the group he is backing is trying to gain total, dictatorial control over the US populous and in that same subconscious (which apparently works a lot better than his conscious brain, judging from his other political beliefs) has deduced that the only way to protect him from his own beliefs is to keep him armed and ready for the day when he finally discovers what we already know: that the democratic do-gooder save the environment BolShevik is only there to keep their true agenda out of the public view.

It's the powerful 'Big Earplug' lobby. ;-)

Sorry, I believe he refered to those three two barreled carbs as a tri power.
Regardless it went away and was replaced by a 350 with an edelbrock and a carter thermoquad.

Maybe he just has suddenly understood that if he is one of the unarmed liberals, He has no self protection.
