Christines guilty of robbery, acquitted of kidnapping (Christine Trial Ends)

I had an experience a few months ago in the waiting room of a large veterinary hospital. The owner of a cat which had recently been treated there, had returned with the cat after it developed a major infectious discharge from its back end. The smell was indeed bad enough that people were covering their noses and staying as far from the woman and her cat as possible. The vet came out to the waiting room to check on the cat (as there was going to be a delay in getting the cat into an examining room) and also cringed at the smell, while pronouncing it unrelated to what the cat had previously been treated for.

Given my experience with abcesses in my own cats (which can result from even tiny puncture wounds which heal over on the outside while retaining an infection inside), opening and draining abcesses can indeed cause a dreadful smell. However, most abcesses are not medically serious (unless left unattended after the infection spreads to the bloodstream, causing a high fever), and depending on the location, an abscess may not be readily detectable at all or, (as theoretically could have been the case with the Christine girls cut/abcess on the head) the swelling caused by pus building up in an abscess could well be mistaken by a lay person for swelling associated with the bruise sustained at the time of the cut or puncture.

The information given about the Christine girl's condition could have been evidence of parental cluelessness rather than parental abuse (though in the context of all the other things the Christine parents are known to have done and alleged to have done, it seems more likely that actual abuse was involved).

A cut on the forehead that we are supposed to believe smells worse than a rotted, gangrenous extremity, and everyone had to leave the room?

I've seen this before on a 82-year-old guy in a con nursing home when I was working as an EMT with a local ambulance group. I still think the nursing home was negligent there. He had maggots walking around in an infected wound on his leg. It smelled like crap, really.

Besides, if the story was made up, the defense counsel would be able to easily rebut this.

That's an extremity, I mentioned gangrenous rotted extremity. Did she have gangrene on her head? No, they allege a fracture and a bleed. I'm telling you what an internist said as his opinion about it that it doesn't smell like gangrene and CSF fluid doesn't smell like feces. This dad proved after DNA testing that he didn't father his daughter's child, 99.9%, but I'm 100.9% sure his accusers are still busy convicting other innocent people, probably got promoted.

To: jude24 I'll save my tears for someone who actually deserves it. These guys deserve to rot in jail for the rest of their natural lives. The criminal justice system, once again, worked.

Personally, my heart aches for a family that that has been destroyed by the very people charged with helping families.

You can crow all you want, but this is not a victory for justice, it is a travesty of justice...and a very sad day for our republic.

It IS a little hard to believe that Brian and Ruth were choosing to live with such a horrendous smell, in a cramped bus, especially since Brian, at least, sounds like one heck of self-centered fellow.

The first time a read about child abuse...I think it was in a Readers Digest article---this poor grandfather was hauled off to the criminal insane asylum---after beatings because someone put his grand daughters underwear with his in his dresser cabinet!

What settled the case....damning evidence is---he liked to hold and play with the child too much---sitting on his lap...

a la---public stoning the poor old guy!

I was honestly perplexed but I came to the conclusion people are insane...

he probably owned the house---they just wanted him out of the way!

I don't believe the abuse charges at all. I believe they were concocted to cover up the egregious actions of the out of control 'social welfare' agency of the state of Oregon.

I have no sympathy for criminals.

Jews in Germany were criminals. Why? Because they were Jews.

Would you condemn those of them who fought back against the tyrants?

It was illegal to harbor Jews, too. Would you condemn those who hid them in their barns, fields and attics? After all, they were 'criminals'...SO, let's throw the book at them, right?! HA!

If I would have been in his Brian Christine's shoes, I don't know what I would have done...do you have any idea of the reputation of the Oregon 'human services'? The stories of children put into homosexual and drug abusing 'homes'?

You could at least try and muster a little human compassion for a family that has been ripped apart and destroyed. But I don't suppose you are capable of that. Sad.
