I have no problem with posting the story, I do have a problem with the suggestion that we should be calling these people. Right now they have other things to deal with and our phone calls are an uneeded distraction.

(I wish someone would explain the "moose" references...)
And the "cheese" too. Imagine, all of it on one thread. I don't think we'll be so lucky.

You nailed it. 99.9% chance of a hoax by a gun grabber.

Sorry, no hoax. My information comes directly from the ATF operators. I was calling in for status on a form 4 transfer. After trying quite a few times, I called the main ATF number. I explained the problem to the operator and he told me that there was an anthrax situation going on.

I'm sure the situation is real. I was talking about the anthrax. I bet it was sent by someone trying to gum up the works.

Ah... my bad. misunderstood the reference. It's highly possible that is the case. The ATF NFA branch isn't on the terrorists hit list as far as I can see.

I just got updated information from a class 3 board that this has been occuring since yesterday or the day before. Why hasn't the media picked up on it?

What's the big deal? There's no threat here, if someone's turned anthrax loose at BATF - bacteria can't infect other bacteria...

Big threat actually. For many people in the class three world, there exists a huge chance of paperwork now being lost or destroyed. If that happens, time is lost. If it somehow effects existing records, (highly unlikely but you never know with the ATF) then peoples freedoms may be jeapordized due to ATF errors.

World Net Daily is on it, as is at least one newspaper writer specializing in CBR weapons, and at least one other foreign news service, and a very well-known Anthrax matters expert.

As with the WEatergate breakin, the real story may be the coverup, particularly if BATF accidentally dosed themselves with material they were intending to plant on *terrorists* elsewhere, as if checking with the NFA branch while researching for a convenient address for a scapegoat.. Developing....

Stay in touch....

There's at least the possibility that BATF was planning to plant some *Anthrax* real or otherwise [presumably real] on some *terrorist suspects* and mishandled their own material.

Come to think of it, wasn't the Treasury Building in D.C. one of the buildings evacuated back around October following a reported Anthrax contamination? And Treasury is the BATF's parent organization....

In any event, they're certainly not treating the BATF goons like they did the Post Office workers, telling them to quit complaining and get back to work. Of course the BATF goons are armed.

... researching for a convenient address for a scapegoat.

I wonder if they'll try to use the one outside of Waco again.

what about the "base belongs to us" line?

The badly-translated video game "Zero Wing" included some remarkably bad English, particularly the line "All your base are belong to us.". (Related lines, also often quoted, are "Somebody set up us the bomb" and "for great justice".)

For some reason this sentence caught on and became a major Internet fad last year.

Eventually, an amazing number of photos were edited to include the phrase in non-sequitor situations.

The high point was a few videos pulling this whole absurdity together.

The fad is over now, but there are still occasional references, usually strange mutations, to the phrase.

And the "cheese" too.

I assume that's a subset of the more common reference to "would you like some wine with that cheese?" or "would you like some cheese with your wine?", a stretched pun of someone whining (wine) and saying "geeze" (cheese) too much. Wine and cheese go together like whine and geeze.

(LOL - can we tell it's a Friday?)

Which reminds me, do we still have the Smoker's Lounge at FR?

Main number at NFA branch?
202-927-8330?
