This statement is just a tad broad. I am an "open-border advocate" and do not support placing watering holes for people illegally crossing the border.

I would agree with you. Sometimes it's not just the liberal media that's prone to over-generalization. I would also say I'm an open border advocate (maybe more in theory than in practice these days though), but at the same time I think we need to have a lot of scrutiny over just who is coming in and if they don't belong here, make sure they get out when they're supposed to.

I also don't think we need to make "aiding and abetting" a criminal act, namely illegal immigration, part of our official national policy.

You won't be missed. Better brush up on your Clinton speak as we will all be living in Clinton Marxist Hell after 2004. Then again, our very effective current President may just win, without you.

Ah, the unifying cry of the coalition builders.

"Shut up or it's Clinton for you, but we don't need you anyway."

What is worse, the illegals are breeding like flies once here; every child is an "anchor baby"--a U.S. Citizen, and immediately eligible for massive flows of welfare.

This is an issue few want to address. But it's absolutely a fact. Women putting out six and seven kids and more, is common practice. Being able to afford them or not, is not even an issue. After all, this is America!

Tic tic tic.

Immigration has worked its wonders on that quintessentially American state, California.

Yes indeed, it sure has. But now that the economic gravy train has rolled stop & we're running a 34 billion dollar deficit (under the stewardship of our esteemed Gov Davis) I wonder how long it will take for us to begin to feel the very definite downside to having millions of jobless illegal aliens among us.

Someone needs to remind Ziglar that the bad guys involved with 911 didn't come across the border. They came in through the front door. So how is putting illegal aliens into legal channels going to help in that situation?

Re your comment "Let's shoot anyone who doesn't look like a typical American!! /sarcasm"., I say, shoot anyone whoever or whatever they look like if they are crossing our borders illegally. They are criminals and do not deserve to be in the United States of America.

Any alien wishing to enter this country can do it legally or suffer the consequences.

LOL, as if our government as ever been competent in managing or controlling immigration in this country. In the end whatever immigration laws our congress enacts the lobbyists and vested interests make sure the laws and regs have no teeth. Whether you know it or not your open borders advocacy is in direct odds with any conservative beliefs you may have. If the stats and trends in recent elections are not enough to convince you that the exponentially growing 3rd world immigrant contingent in America is not an unmitigated disaster for republicans and conservatives you have your head firmly planted in the sand.

So, how do we go about doing this? Do you prefer the German style of barbed wire and cement walls? Or perhaps the North Korean style of armed towers? What type of guns and ammunition do you propose we use to mow down these ruthless criminals? What about a .50 cal? They sure are fun to shoot! Should we have gun ships patrolling the borders ready to shoot anything that moves near it?

I think some suggestions and options are in order.

Another problem is that our government is taking money from those millions of Mexican's who work here legally and are paying taxes, just like you and me. What do we do about that? Another good question is, how do you plug a hole in a damn that has many leaks? One patch will not work.

The solution begins with one word- *leadership*. And we don't have it!

Again, I agree, but how do we go about changing it in a "peaceful" manner, or is there such a thing?

Oooh! Booga Booga Clinton Booga Booga. I'm so scared. What difference does it make, when no matter who gets in office or what party they're from they always support a policy of unlimited illegal immigration? This policy is codified by periodic "amnesties" that are always promised to be "the last one ever".

Oh, and by the way, this is only the very most important issue facing our country. So, what did the candidates debate about in the last election? Social Security "lockboxes" and "free drugs for seniors". Well, grandpa was glued to the TV. The rest of us kinda dozed off. What a bunch of hooey.

P.S. Please add me to your ping list.

Tired of your whine. Don't vote for him again, but stop whining. Only 30% of the voters (population) ever were solidly behind the administration in office. You won't be missed. Better brush up on your Clinton speak as we will all be living in Clinton Marxist Hell after 2004. Then again, our very effective current President may just win, without you.

Another RINO speaks! For your info, there are a lot of conservatives like me that are disgusted with Bush and his open borders immigration polices. If Bush thinks he can win without us--so be it. His dad thought he could win reelection by alienating conservatives too.

For the record, not only did I vote for Bush, I joined his campaign and made substantial financial contributions to the party in 2000. Bush never would have prevailed in 2000 without strong grassroot support from his conservative base. And if you think that Bush can make up what he loses in conservative votes with new Hispanics votes I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.

All on the taxpayers' dime. Time for Prop 187-II.
