I take it that that was a "local" DU thread posted by members of their "Florida Chapter"? Just a guess.
The smart ones are dead on. They know that vengeance alone, memories of the 2000 election and so forth, will not carry this election for Reno. You might get a big black turnout for Reno or McBride, but even here in Liberaland (South Florida) the Cuban turnout and Jeb's progress in the Jewish Community and among white blue collar workers will seriously decrease Janet's numbers down here.
As to McBride, there are plenty of questions about his financial stewardship of Holland and Knight, P.A., to raise a stink even among Democrats. For those of you out of staters, Holland and Knight is the state's Monster Law Firm. Their tentacles extend from Miami to Tallahassee, and out to Washington and South America. McBride was an integral part of their operation and was helpful in the firm's growth in the eighties and nineties. Apparently, he left Holland and Knight with some internatl cash-flow problems that have hit the papers recently.
All in all, Jeb wins in a monster. 56-44 is about right; those sound like reasonable numbers. Oh, and I'm starting to like Simon's chances in California. I think Simon is getting a serious look out there, and I think the Bush people are starting to like his numbers.
An interesting thing about the picture above. It is dated September 11th, 2000. On September 11th, 2000, Albert Gore still stood with a small lead in the polls. The Smart Money was riding on Gore. I remember the Smart Media had said that the air had gone out of Bush's campaign. September of 2000 was a bad month for us. However, within a year and a day, the two men pictured above would find themselves in a very different world. But one thing would not change. They would still be brothers.
Be Seeing You,
Chris

Thanks for this very USEFUL thread that we should try to keep at the top until the Election. Sometimes CHATTER from the opponents is worth more to undecideds than all the data and statistics they tend to avoid anyway.
Like you, I may post something from a democrat but I RESIST providing their links here at FR. No free dem guided tours for undecideds courtesy of Floriduh Voter. LOL

What you are saying is true, although the Dumb-O-crats have thmselves to blame.
No leadership, no new ideas, no programs, constant lying and shake and bake janet bono.
Enough said.

I agree. Speaking as a former Dem and now an independent, what you said above is exactly what I see in the FL gov race from the Dem Party -- and, amazingly, some Dem voters see it too.

Good work summer! I just love to read your threads, have them all bookmarked!
Good news for us, but we will not be complacent!! We shall work hard to get Jeb re-elected just as if he were running against
"the he-coon that walks at night". :-)

Sounds like the Dems are finally facing reality.
This is all great news for Jeb.

Thanks for your kind words, BWB. And, I agree, no one who wants Gov. Bush to win should be complacent. But, I am wondering if there aren't some very frustrated Dem voters out there who maybe could be convinced how wonderful Gov. Bush has really been as a governor -- and could perhaps come around to voting for him as well! LOL... :)

BTTT to your post #53. Yes, some are facing reality. Also, why a political newcomer like Bill McBride never spent any time coming up with a firm platform and new ideas before deciding to run as a gov candidate for his party is somewhat beyond me.

BTTT for USEFUL FLORIDA CHATTER. Let's bump this thread UNTIL ELECTION DAY!
To: BigWaveBetty
I take nothing for granted because we know what the dems are capable of in the "legal challenge dept". Touch screen technology should help all the republican candidates because I think that cheating would have to be on a major conspiratorial scale to be pulled off.
However, I do not look forward to any recounts as I think JR or MB would have all counties recounted unlike Algor. If there are RECOUNTS, I'll just have to get my protest kit together and protest! BTTT
