It's true I don't know anything. The important thing is I realize I don't know anything. This, in my opinion, is the beginning of wisdom.

not many are humble enough to say this. i think this is what makes me respect mcintosh's observations.

unrealistic?????? I don't think so. The truth when it's unpleasant doesn't make it any less the truth. Wise is the man and woman who takes note.

I feel like I'm the only one who's going to say this, which may put me into the Larouche category of crazy people...BUT!!!

Are we forgetting that we are online and openly discussing this with no fear of persecution? That we can put out Freep alerts to boycott gold or Wall Street and actually make a difference?

Am I the only one who sees that the little Weasels in the Media are starting to FLINCH every time Internet News is mentioned in their presence? America is NOT dying...Its just that a wave of conservatism is forming and you gotta have a trough before you get a peak...

I found the analysis in this piece to be sensationalistic, but thanks for the Ping, my Freeper Friends! Lets do some op ed pieces on PANIC and LAZINESS which is what I see are America's biggest problems... Only LAZY people expect the stock market to pay their bills Freepers should own their own businesses and hire people with conservative ideas and pay them what they're worth...If we did that as a group, I guarantee we could put a dent in the downward slope of America...Make MONEY ETHICALLY!!!!

FREEP IT TILL IT HURTS!!!

Peace, OUT!

SS

He believes that everyone is worthy of contempt. That's unrealistic. Sure, there are bad apples in government and business, but there are bad apples everywhere and I would venture to say that the percentage of bad apples in government and business is about the same as the percentage of bad apples in many other occupations or group (except of course the Democratic fraternity and the terrorist groups, they have a very high percentage of bad apples :^)...).

I don't agree with this author on the causes of what is happening
but I too think there is a falling apart going on
however I agree with a poster above who expressed optimism
what the author fails to realize is that for something new and visionary to take the place of what we have
the old formerly impermeable structures have to begin to give way
my hunch is we are watching a shift in consciousness
never before has what is taking place on federal level seemed so unreal to me
and never before did I feel a vision of freedom so in grasp

There's something about those women who talk about money all day. Probably some kind of subconscious Freudian connection going on there. :^)

I believe we are on the road to decline and collapse

We are on the road of a major inflation. It is not the end of America as we know it. It has happened before. Are yall old enough to remembeer jimmy Carter? And he was not the poime offender in that scene. Johnson gave the first nudge to that ball and Nixon got it rolling good. Carter was there when it became obvious and could no longer be redefined away and Jimmy's boys made some spectacularly wrong decisions.

Well, it is happening again. We will have a few frantic years of high inflation- prices are only starting on their upward trip and there is 30% of inflation in the last 18 months that the CPI will come inexorably to reflect. Then san candidate will be elected who understands economics or who knows who does and things will ease back into actual prosperity

So long as the government feels it must intervene econmomically to fix things, anything, the dollar will not be truly stable. The government cannot halt inflation by active measures and bureaucrats and politicians cannot think in long enough time frames to be able to do the right things anyway.

Not much here to debate...Just the bitter rant of a know-it-all who probably lost his shirt on some get-rich-quick scam.

Either that or he has grandiose fantasies of omniscience and wants to sell a newsletter.

I get junk mail like this every day.

And still go looking for more on the threads? What for?

BTW, I'm sure your perception of reality is far more accurate than that of the author!

Remember the good old days when doom and gloom whackos (who have yet to ever be right BTW) had to wander around wearing clapboard? Now they get to annoy people en mas on the internet, but they don't get the excercise and sun like they used to. At least before there were some side benefits to being nuts.

If the original author you and you mean that stuff then yup. I've been hearing the same song and dance all my life, a few of the words change every now and then but pretty much it's all the same: economic collapse, race war, class war, end of the nation, end of the world, doom, doo-oo-oo-mmm. Charles Manson was into the same stuff in the late 60s. 30+ years later it ain't happened yet. Then there's the enviromentalists, and the food shortage crowd. Seems there's a large quantity of people who just aren't happy if they think the world might actually out live them.

Of course I am watch The Omen right now, whatever that means.

Chemtrails is a kook paranoid belief that the jet vapor trails you see in the sky are an organization spraying some kind of mind-controlling chemicals on us.

In the interest of full disclosure I suppose I should admit that in the late 80s and early 90s I was one a doomcrier to. Quite convinced the whole sh!tpot was on the brink of melting down. I was quite convinced the whole thing was going to fall apart in 5 years. You know what happened 5 years after I first predicted that? The Rodney King riots. Problem is they stopped. Turned out I was full of crap. Now, as a recovering doomcrier that has accepted how dumb he was, I feel I have some leeway to poke at other doomcriers.

1) they are incompetent, or
2) they are corrupt.
