Received this from a friend via email today, and thought it was rather inspiring. It's a good reminder not to forget to pray for the nation, and for Bush, no matter what you think of him.
Sorry if you've seen it before, it's worth re-reading. And, of course, feel free to distribute!

Hey, Clinton!.......
I got your salute right here ...........
To: glorygirl; McGavin999
Moments later the president reemerged from the helicopter and out onto the steps. The Marine was standing at attention, head and eyes straight ahead. The president leaned over and tapped him on the left arm. The startled Marine turned his body toward the president and received his returned salute! I was so impressed by this true act of respect for our military people by our president! He really does get it. Most any other person of his stature would have just continued his journey, disregarding the neglected return salute
I had never seen this, and am glad I did. I've read similar observations & comparisons in the differences in the "salute" between our current President & the military, and Clinton. It's also apparent that W KNOWS HOW to salute, compared to Clinton. Combine this with the Secret Service of the previous administration and the current, and you have a group proud to place their lives on the line for such a man - OUR President. Another reason I love him. As FReeper McGavin999 said recently "He's one of us."

God bless President Bush. During the telecast of the memorial service at the National Cathedral, my co-workers and I formed a circle and we clasped hands and prayed. I still remember how the service made everyone feel better about what happened.

What a wonderful article to read before going to sleep. Better than warm milk. Thanks for posting it.
God Bless!

I don't know when this was written, but the part about clinton and the salute has been debunked. Go to snopes2.com, look under military and you'll find the answer. At the end of last night's, May 31,Special Report, the video clip was part of President Bush's introduction of Ms. Walker, the Queen of Gospel music.

What I especially notice is Bush's salute -- it's delivered with certainty, with respect. A sharp salute.

Hey Glorygirl even back in Reagan days I even see Ronnie gave Salute to Air Force One Miltary guard There is picture out there in magazine archives of Ronnie doing that Now reason why people don't think Prez didn't do it because we have Mack Daddy as ex-42

Respect is a lovely thing. He's earned it with the military.

Makes sense (although I wish it didn't) But is the story of the Flight jacket true? Bush was given a flight jacket with all the patches from the Navy Squadrons while Klintoon had a blank jacket? Subtle tokens of disrespect and all.

It's the first time I ever posted a vanity, and never will again! Never mind that I qualified the post.
Another guy from Texas yelling at me. Now I remember why I left! :)

Another guy from Texas yelling at me. Now I remember why I left! :) Ah come on. It was a good post and I don't bite. LOL

And yes, to anticipate your next post, I turned off all the lights and didn't let the door hit me on the way out.
So much for sticking up for the Lonestar State.

So much for sticking up for the Lonestar State. I am not sure why you are saying this to me? Was it the "Ashcrroft will resign by Friday" discussion we had? Look if I hurt your feelings it was not intentional and I am sorry.
To: Texasforever
So you are saying this is a good post, even though it is untrue?
To: Texasforever
I did not say he would "resign."
I said it would be a long week for him.
And I think I was right.
To: glorygirl
So you are saying this is a good post, even though it is untrue? Well so much for olive branches.
