Salvador Allende - Socialist president of Chile (1970-73). Of upper-middle-class background, Allende took a degree in medicine and in 1933 helped found Chile's Socialist Party. He ran for president unsuccessfully three times before winning narrowly in 1970. He attempted to restructure Chilean society along socialist lines while retaining democracy, civil liberties, and due process of law, but his efforts to redistribute wealth resulted in stagnant production, food shortages, rising inflation, and widespread strikes. His inability to control his radical supporters further alienated the middle class. His policies dried up foreign credit and led to a covert campaign by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency to destabilize the government. He was overthrown in a violent military coup, during which he died by gunshot, reportedly self-inflicted. He was replaced by Gen. A. Pinochet. (Britannica)

Sounds a lot like Chavez.

Attention Venezuelans, when your president calls upon his terrorist friend in Cuba to have some of his troops to help in your country, I think it is a clue that he thinks even his own troops may have ill feelings towards him. Should you take your country back before it is to late, you must get your selves involved in your own countries future. Chavez seems a wicked man but only a man and can be taken out of the position he claims is his, even when you suffer his suffering is none. I see he has done nothing to ease your poor and with your billions of dollars in oil, he does what? buys weapons, and gives donations to other countries and supports terrorists. Please take your country back and do good with the world.
