Wrong, there were many many more than that.

How many, exactly?

The Registrar found EIGHT (I remember that, because some of the local conservatives were laughing about it) questionable registrations after the fact. There were a lot of provisional ballots, but those were found valid, and Dornan contested every one of them.

In fact, according to this, they found almost 1800 illegal votes overall, and he only lost by about 980 total.

I agree that Mr. Escobar sounds like a good candidate. He has obviously become a part of the Conservative American mainstream. I wish him all the best, this November.

But to make a distinction between "ideology" and "bloodlines," is to buy the confusion that the Left has foisted on America during the 20th Century. Ideas are not something disembodied. People have ideas. People also have pasts; they have futures. Moral people so act during their lives as to provide for their posterity. There is no more important part of Western ideology than providing for our posterity--and respecting the Fifth Commandment, which directs each of us to honor those who before us provided for us as their posterity.

The preamble of the Constitution speaks eloquently of securing "the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity."

Notice the contrast between that language and that in the preamble of the Declaration of Independence, "a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires," etc. We respect mankind and its opinions; but the Governments, established, looked to our own posterity, not mankind. Any exposition of American ideology that ignores that most crucial part of the American ideology, is not only the pursuit of a mad abstraction over reality. It is like spitting in the eyes of those who made it all possible. It goes without saying that it is also a betrayal of many now living.

Who is the "they" that found 1,800 illegal votes? Dornan's people?

Read the link. Do a google search. It's fairly commonly known. I've seen estimates of 2M illegal (gore) votes in CA alone in 2000, so 1800 isn't out of the question for one district...

Yes, I understand that. Thanks. I was trying to make a point beyond that.

I did read the link, and who made the determination is not made clear--or even mentioned. The only evidence presented in the article was from Bob Dornan, not from the Orange County Registrar of Voters.

Bob Dornan started thinking that his COngressional seat was his by some sort of divine right. His district has always leaned Democrat; he always had to campaign hard to stay in his seat. In 1996, his ego got the better of him, and he lost.

That certainly wasn't the only site on the internet. There are a zillion. It's common knowledge that illegal vote fraud swung the balance in what was already a very close race. The margin of illegals voting was greater than the margin Sanchez won by. Thus, illegals won the election for Sanchez .(who only started using her hispanic name for the purpose of getting elected)

This guy sounds like a actual conservative. Not a chance in hell of the RNC backing him. They don't mind spending money on RINO's like Giddy Dolt, but not a chance of them backing a real Republican. What we need is a band address to send him political contributions. If we don't back him as individuals,he isn't likely to get any backing.

Sad but true sneaky. The 'pro choice' RINOS will run like he$$ away from this guy and leave him to lose. Wish he had more than twentysomething percent. *sigh*

And they may or may not be factually correct.

It's common knowledge that illegal vote fraud swung the balance in what was already a very close race.

It was also common knowledge that the Earth was flat.

Please note that Bob Dornan kept on with a manifestly hopeless bid for the GOP Presidential nomination. He failed to tend to his district's needs. His district has always tended Democrat. He has always had to work for re-election. He let up in 1996. He lost.

Well, he didn't keep it up very long. I know Bob...knew him during that time period. He gave up his presidential bid long before it impacted his congressional race in any way...and he and his family worked their tails off for his reelection.
