LOL.... and this is a big secret (especially Smith the Independent)..... I suspect any presentation to a group of Activist is possibly subject to being leaked, but the disk lying on a street corner.... well goof ups do happen

The disk was stolen, STOLEN, I tell you.

I'm inclined to agree with you - this "picked up off the street" thing is a little too far-fetched. However, it also sounds as if it may have been planted in the first place. There's nothing in this that is particularly revealing. Maybe this is just a case of throwing out a little bait and seeing what comes along.

The disk, which also includes a more detailed Power Point presentation on the political climate for the 2002 and 2004 elections prepared by senior Bush aide Karl Rove, was picked up off the pavement by a Senate Democratic aide, who has been happily passing it on to others.

Yeah, right. Kinda of like the couple in Florida? that accidentally picked up the cell phone conversation between the Republicans. Right....

This gets more media hype than when Clinton left the "football" and it had to be retrieved by his Secret Service men..........I'm sure there were more confidential documents in that than anything in this strategy tape from the GOB..........and, what's more, maybe it was left there DELIBERATELY.......the Demos are frantic for any kind of info..............heh heh!!

Of course it was, and if the parties were reversed, nobody would believe otherwise. Of course it's irrelevant because the information doesn't reveal anything, but it just shows how sleazy these people are. I mean, a president was forced to resign for knowing postumously about theft of campaign materials.

Give 'em the same sentence Liddy got.

If the leak came from someone handling the audio visual, it sounds an awful lot like the leaked debate tape. I wonder if they are still using the same Austin company.

Don't be sad.

Folks, PLEASE review Exit 109's link to the briefing. I don't know how the press could spin the presentation as bad for the Republicans, because it really looks GOOD!!!!

Just take a look and tell us what you think.

The disk, . . . was picked up off the pavement by a Senate Democratic aide, who has been happily passing it on to others.

This is like finding someone's personal papers and instead of attempting to return them, making copies and gleefully handing them out to everyone without apology. I know this is politics and all is fair, but I find this distasteful and immoral.

I looked at almost all of them and I don't think there is anything there that isn't known or assumed by either party. One may define the numbers or issues slightly different, but I bet they both have mulitple senarios covering most of the issues/data.

Nothing big there, imo

. . .there may have been another copy in the possession of the person handling the audio-visual portion of the presentation who “may have forgotten to delete it.”

BINGO!!! Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the only way to avoid this is to use your own machine for the presentation. Oh you can stand there and watch the techie delete the file- but he can just go back and recover it after you have left.

Or it was just an out and out theft from a desk drawer. Or- if the machine is on a LAN(local network) I think it's not to hard for an "Uber Geek" or even a sys admin. to get pretty much whatever he wants.

I too am surprised that any one would believe this was found on the sidewalk. It was stolen and delivered to dems. It is a tempest in a tea pot but it is amazing that anybody gives it credence.

AFL-CIO $45.0 million
Emily’s List $20.0 million
Planned Parenthood $14.0 million
NAACP $11.0 million
Sierra Club $ 9.5 million
NEA $ 9.0 million
NARAL $ 8.0 million
Handgun Control $ 5.0 million
LCV $ 4.0 million
TOTAL $125.5 million

Interesting numbers from the slides (11) from the Republican presentation.

One question.

Some of these people are listed as 501(c) non-profit, non-political organizations to dodge income taxes. Some of these organizations actually receive tax monies.

WHY ARE THEY NOT BEING TAXED AS POLITCAL UNITS ?

Was this a 1.44 MB floppy disk or a 650 MB - 700 MB compact disc?

Are we sure there wasn't anything on the disk besides the PowerPoint presentation file?

Yes, the movie was based on a real incident. My understanding is the Nazis bought the deception hook, line and sinker.
