From the Pittsburgh Post Gazette:

GOP finds duplicate voting

Friday, June 14, 2002

By James O'Toole, Politics Editor, Post-Gazette

A survey by the Republican National Committee has found nearly 50,000 cases of improper duplicate voter registrations in Pennsylvania.

Using the RNC's computerized national voting data base, the Republicans found 17,276 cases of individuals who were apparently registered in two different jurisdictions within the state and at least 32,000 cases where individuals were registered concurrently in Pennsylvania and another state.

While the vast majority of those cases are likely to be the result of benign personal or bureaucratic lapses -- such as persons registering at a new address without notifying their old polling place -- GOP figures said the numbers show the widespread potential for voter fraud.

Looking at Pennsylvania records from the 2000 presidential election, the GOP found 53 instances where ballots were cast in the same person's name in two different counties -- whether as a result of the same individual voting twice or of some other person exploiting the duplicate registrations.

"These state voter lists are terrible," said Dan Ronayne, an RNC spokesman, "This drives home how important it is for states to have statewide voter registration lists."

Pennsylvania, where voter rolls are now maintained separately in each of its 67 counties, has just begun to move toward such a comprehensive voter file. Gov. Mark Schweiker signed a measure earlier this year designed to create a statewide voter list in time for the 2004 presidential election.

The total of 32,472 dual-state registrations found by the RNC is almost certain to grow. The party's scrutiny of the voter rolls has so far covered just 11 states.

Overall, in the states reviewed so far, the RNC found at least 140,000 persons registered twice and 689 cases where votes were cast under the same person's name for the same candidate in two different counties or states in November, 2000. Ronayne said the RNC had not found -- or looked for -- any partisan pattern in the duplications.

"We're not doing this to engage in any finger-pointing," he said. "What we want to do is shine a light on the problem, that's why we want to share the results of our research so far."

For Pennsylvania, the data for in-state duplications showed a marked disparity between the two most populous counties, Philadelphia and Allegheny. For the 2000 election cycle, the RNC identified 14,947 cases where an individual was registered simultaneously in Philadelphia and in one of the suburban counties that surround it. Within that group, they found 53 cases where votes were cast under the same name for the same candidate in two different jurisdictions. For Allegheny County, the RNC found just 56 cases of duplicate registrations and no instances of double voting.

"That study underscores the need for this legislation, what we suspected about the potential for fraud," said Josh Wilson, an aide to state Sen. Jeffrey Piccola, R-Dauphin, one of the architects of the state legislation on voter lists.

Remember Philadelphia was the site of vote fraud yet again when ultra-liberal Ed Rendell beat the Socially Conservative Bob Casey Jr. for the Democratic Nomination For Gov. in May 2002.

Philadelphia was also the only reason Gore won Pennsylvania in the 2000 election. With Pennsylvania in his corner, there would have been no Florida recount, Bush would have won anyway, without Florida.

Philadelphia is were wards were turning out 99.9% of the vote totals for Gore. Many political experts agree that if a candidate gets more than 90% of a vote, there is fraud going on.

BTTT! Sounds like some Republicans need to pay more attention to these precincts in Philly! There NEEDS to be more fines and convictions for voter fraud. This stuff needs to be prosecuted!

YOU ARE RIGHT!!

Look at Ward 28 above in the Philadelphia results, you cannot tell me that Gore honestly got over 5,300 votes and Bush only got 75.

No one can honestly win 99.9% of a vote in any given area, there are always more dissenters than .1%

If you click on the link you will find some very interesting numbers.

There were 286 NYC voters who voted in both NY and Florida. That total came from the big three recount counties Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach.

286 Votes would have helped pad that 537 Vote margin that Bush won with.

A freeper with a lot of time, a fast computer and a commitment to the truth could have a lot of fun with this -- you can get the registered voter lists from each state -- usually from the Board of Elections or the Sec. of State. You could collect them all and run a merge/purge and find all the dupicate registrations in the country -- image the impact of finding 1,000 Democrats who are registered in Florida and in New York similtaneously.

Could be a lot of fun.

Ward 28 75 Bush 5,320 Gore
Ward 29 115 Bush 4,262 Gore

Yeah, right. The typical banana-republic dictator lets the token opposition score more votes than that.

Agreed. And I don't understand why. If the GOP pushed for electoral reform and sought money to implement it, we could nearly eliminate voter fraud in this country. The Democrats would probably lose 10% of their base (the dead folks, the felons, the double-dippers).

This seems like a no-brainer for the GOP to push. And what would the Dem position be? "We have no interest in cleaning up voter fraud"?

I have been asuming that a clean-up was underway since the election. We simply cannot allow this fraud to continue on such a grand scale. There needs to be one uniform computerized method throughout the nation that can detect and put an end to these problems.

Of course, the Democrats will fight this for as long as they can. The fraud-method has helped them to win more often than we will ever know.

If just ONE of these people were arrested, convicted, and sentenced to jail time (preferably in New York, where the prisons are rougher), it would send a hell of a signal to the RATS. Can't any New Yorkers or Floridians get the names of a few of these people and file criminal complaints?

A few more facts about Florida the papers neglected to mention:

1)Those "red counties"...the 22 smallest registered voter populations out of 67 total counties in Florida are all Democrat counties. All but Leon County voted for GW (and there's evidence of fraud in Leon). After the mandatory recounts (yes, the WHOLE state DID recount), these counties, with mostly Dem. election workers, added or subracted only a few votes. They were honest Democrats who chose to vote for President Bush in these "red" counties

2) While most major papers repeated the allegation that Gore did poorly because of Votomatic Machines, all 12 of the Votomatic counties were in Gore's top 50% of his registered Dem. voters' votes received....and in Bush's bottom half Republican votes received versus registered Republicans, w/ Palm Beach County...Bush's lowest % of registered Republicans, Gore's highest % of registered Dems and best county overall.

How to change a ballot into an overvote and erase a vote for Bush? Punch a Bush ballot for Gore.

3)Palm Beach County also shows up as one of the three counties where Sen. candidate Bill McCollum (House impeachment mgr) received more votes for Senator than Bush received for President. Think about it. Republicans would choose to vote for Gore/McCollum? Democrats would choose to vote for Gore/McCollum?

It is ONLY in Palm Beach County that more than 20% of the registered Republicans "forgot" to vote for their party's presidential candidate. This 'lack of interest" by the republicans despite equally massive "get-out-the vote" efforts by both parties. As shown by the absentee ballot numbers, there WAS equal interest in the election by both parties; at least until the votes were "totaled".

For the record, in spite of the mainstream press's repeated claims that Pinellas County is a Democrat County - NO, it isn't, it wasn't. Pinellas was one of two Republican majority counties in the state where Gore won (w/ Hernando)-

"Seek and ye shall find," says the Good Book. No one puts more faith in this proposition than the Vice President's lawyers: Given the time, they know, Democratic counters in Democratic counties seeking more votes for the Democratic candidate for President will find them. Indeed, Time.com already reports that when helpful election officials in Pinellas County, which went for Al Gore, "removed the chaff from ballots before they were submitted for recount by the machines, Gore-Lieberman picked up an additional 417 votes."
The Railroad, great John Fund article from Opinion Journal.

You are exactly right. Most Political Experts agree that if any major candidate gets less than 10% vote fraud is going on.

Think about it, in Ward 28 Gore got 99.9% of the vote and Bush got .1% That is simply not possible.
