Ujaama, formerly known as James Earnest Thompson, surrendered outside his aunt's home as federal agents and police swarmed it, guns drawn. His younger brother Mustafa was briefly detained outside the home before being released. Both men deny any connection with terrorist activity. Black Muslims? I wonder if they had any connection to the Mardi Gras violence in Seattle last year.

Black Muslims? I wonder if they had any connection to the Mardi Gras violence in Seattle last year.interesting question you pose, here. I don't know the answer.
seems like the black muslims may be turning up in the "las vegas cashiers check". then you have padilla, who was a "prison convert" and mousssoui's old roomie in norman, ok.

The Seattle connection:
Ujaama, who once ran a small computer store on University Way Northeast in Seattle, allegedly provided laptop computers to the Taliban before Sept. 11 and is suspected of being involved in setting up a Web site for Sakina Security Services in London, which operated a site called the "Ultimate Jihad Challenge."
the Detroit connection:
Hamad described Shishani as a successful businessman who sells computers and acts as a "third-party broker."
looks like the Al-Q has more computer salesmen than youll find in a Gateway store?

"...mousssoui's old roomie in norman, ok."

Roomie's pre-conversion name was Latimer, I think. I don't remember his Moslem name.

I'm not finding anything oklahoma-related on Sakina. But why were they removed from the other thread? Any idea?
To: aristeides
Thanks. Can anyone give me the correct spelling on Mahsowee? :-)
To: Nita Nupress
Zacarias Moussaoui. He said today he was going to plead guilty to some of the counts, and then he withdrew the plea, apparently.

"But why were they removed from the other thread? Any idea?"
No, but I'm trying to find out from Black Jade.

From ------
http://www.newsday.com/ny-wolond042398290oct04.story"On Monday, police detained Mohammed Jameel, 25, Sakina's operations director, under Britain's Terrorism Act, which allows them to hold suspects without charge for several days. For the past three years, Jameel, a British citizen, organized training camps in the English countryside for young Muslims to learn hand-to-hand combat and survival techniques."
[Oct. 4, 2001] "But FBI officials in Washington said they had no information on Sakina or Jameel.
Michigan officials said they had no record of any company named Sakina. "To my knowledge they don't have to be licensed, they don't have to get any particular permits to operate a gun range," said State Police spokesman Mike Prince."
"British investigators say the training took place at rented shooting ranges in Michigan, Missouri and Virginia." [ but not Alabama] [Missouri is a short drive to Oklahoma]

What's Wackenhut up to these days?
A while back when I did a search on Mohmed Ahmed there were hits at a message board...regarding selling flowers. The laptops are how these guys keep in touch, much as we communicate on FR.IMO
