For my part, Ill tell you that I think most of you are tragic dupes. The Bush Administration cares nothing for you, nothing about you. And if you make 120K a year, dont think youre one of their special pets. Youre chumps to them, unless youre making about 500 large per year, or more. I think that the Bush Administration needs a dumbed-down populace, non-critical thinkers. Because if most Americans really did put their critical facilities to work, Bush would be back at the pig farm in Crawford in very short order. Last question: have any of you ever actually read Noam Chomsky or watched his stuff?Yawn, another sh*t-hot Critical Thinker.

Let me pose a question to you, not that you'll have the 'nads to answer a straight-forward question: What would justify a war against Iraq, or any other regime for that matter, in your opinion.

Historically, pacificism has not worked. The reason is because truly evil individuals will not respond to peaceful negotiation. We could use Hitler as an example. Peaceful negotiation failed miserably, and Hitler went on to cause the death of over 12 million people, including the 6 million Jews that were murdered in the death camps (Auschwitz, Dachau, Treblinka) The only way Hitler was stopped, was when he was dead.

Welcome.
I'm honestly not sure about our policy with dissenting posts here, but I hope they'll leave it up. I think we're all interested in a civil discussion and I think the majority of Freepers will do our part to stay civil even if we disagree about some heartfelt issues.
(Unfortunately we have a few hotheads here, just like there are at DU and any other forum on the net -- it's the nature of the internet. I don't think you'll find that they're representative of most Freepers. And I hope you don't let them put you off.)

Youre chumps to them, unless youre making about 500 large per year, Well then I guess you're the only chump here! So long....

Why is it that we need to make war on Iraq? To defeat the Hussein regime.
This would be hard to do via fax or phone.

Ive got to tell you that word on the liberal street is that you guys are a bunch of single-minded, groupthink brownshirts.Gosh, you ought to hear what you think about you.
But you laid enough insults on us to indicate that you're more intent on landing a punch than actually learning. So good riddance when this post is deleted.

He actually came here asking questions. I plan on giving him much more than he bargained for.

If you could manage to pull your head out of the sand long enough, you might understand what has gotten this great nation to where it is today, We didn't get here by ignoring tyrants or appeasing Dictators, It's because we are willing to shed our blood for those who we have never met. Freedom means a whole lot more to us that you spinelsss liberals.
Please take your pacifism to a place you will be appreciated....Lets say France?

Why are American military lives more important than Iraqi lives? Probably because American military lives are protecting American civilian lives, and Iraqi lives don't seem to be of much concern to Iraq, either..
Wow! I actually read, and replied to a thread before it got zotted!
To: UnapologeticLiberal
Why is it that we need to make war on Iraq? Two reasons. First, our threshold of what constitutes an unacceptable threat dropped considerably on 9/11. Iraq is definitely a threat at some level, as Powell explained. Second, the three nations that support terrorism the most are Syria, Iran and Saudi Arabia. If we want to neutralize them, we will need to have a large presence in Iraq. Saddam isn't exactly inviting us in to stay.
This question is asked in light of the fact that most serious people outside of the Bush administration dont see Iraq as any sort of threat to anyone in the US.
I reject your premise. Half of Europe says you're wrong.

the server space wholly owned by rimjob I would zap him just for that. This dude has not one ounce of respect for anyone's opinion's here.

You know, you are a precious piece of work. I truly hope ZOT doesn't bless you, in spite of all your gratuitous insults.Agreed. This is a prize specimen, like Helen Thomas.

At the very least, if you believe in the mission of the U.N., you have to believe in the U.S.'s determination to make the U.N. back up and enforce its own resolutions. Which it hasn't been doing.
That's just the tip of the truth iceberg.
To: UnapologeticLiberal
As I said before many who ride the intellectual short bus need to make these points. The rest have an instinctual understanding of the principles involved.

I hope the admins leave this post up, and I hope my fellow conservatives focus on your questions rather than, well, the rest of it.
Noam Chomsky hates everything that America is, and I would not want to live in the America he strives to create. And yes, I have heard him may times on Alternative Radio from PRI...shocked the hell out of you with that one, I'll bet.
Oh, and as to the war? It makes me nervous and I pray for the quick resolution of the conflict, but it is also an unavoidable war to (a) vanquish a force of evil named Saddam and (b) liberate the people of Iraq. If Baghdad is ever restored to the cosmopolitan style of the 70s, I should imagine I'd like to visit someday.
And a question for you: What will you say when the dungeons are opened and we hear the stories of oppression and torture and depravity? What will you say if we see a war crimes trial of Iraqi commanders?
