Did you leave out the rest of your quote?

I presume you mean the last quote. No, that's just as K-L wrote it.

I would blame the universities, first, since the young one were the first to be beguiled by the Fuehrer.

K-L was writing about election results -- mostly not the young, I imagine.

However, I would love to see the election results of 1936:-)?

The title of K-L chapter is "The Rise of the National Socialist Party." He didn't discuss later events.

Perhaps we need to look at the membership roles of the NSDAP for those constituencies. One wonders what happened to conservative party leaders to see how many the Nazis co-opted once they had chopped off the heads of the the tallest plants.

That would perhaps distort their true leanings -- fear has a tendency to do that.

Thanks very much Catholicguy for your post! I guess the Vatican feels that it doesn't have anything to hide;HOWEVER,I think they would be surprised at how devious some of these anti-Catholic writers and historians are! I don't like, personally,to see these people get squat!

Spot on, Askel5!! I for one would like to see a separate thread with that information on it. Anything that can shine light on the AmChurch and educate us about their multi-level sell out to the enemies of the Church is a great help.

That would perhaps distort their true leanings -- fear has a tendency to do that. It wasn't fear alone. Few Germans(Jews were another story) not in a leadership position were likely to receive a visit from the Gestapo. Hitler was a very popular figure in 1936. Many people were still living on potatoes but he was ending the depression in Germany the same way that Roosevelt finally ended it in the United States: By massive military spending.
