When Race-Rioters Masquerade As Protestors

The rioters in Cincinnati were common criminals taking advantage of a permissive climate created by pandering whites and racist blacks.

"Riots may be relatively rare, but the thinking that rationalizes them is not," observes Heather Mac Donald of the Manhattan Institute. This "riot ideology," blaming society for the riot instead of the rioter, "pervades the country's response to underclass problems and to race issues generally."

In the summer issue of City Journal, published by the Manhattan Institute, Mac Donald argues that the false characterization of the Cincinnati riots as "a spontaneous outcry against injustice" served only to justify the violence and the subsequent pandering to race hustlers. "Local leaders scrambled to contain the public-relations fiasco and to show their concern for black anger," she reports. "The City Council hurriedly voted to submit a pending racial-profiling lawsuit to costly 'mediation,' rather than contest it, even though none of the suit's allegations had been shown to be credible. Mayor Luken invited in the Justice Department to investigate the police division. . . . But the city's main riot response was to form Community Action Now, a three-man panel dedicated to racial reconciliation. . . ."

Mac Donald insists that "it wasn't police brutality that incited the riots; it was the incessant anti-police campaign waged by local activists." She also emphasizes "one hard fact" not addressed by the various conciliatory gestures: "Seventy-two percent of the defendants indicted so far in the Cincinnati explosion have adult criminal histories. Prior offenses include rape, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, assault, weapons discharge, and endangering children."

According to Mac Donald, "Riot ideology in Cincinnati has had its usual effect. In the month following the riots, violent crime of all kinds rocketed up 20 percent. This is not surprising," she asserts. "Not only did the riot ideologists romanticize assaults and theft as a long-overdue blow for justice, but they demonized the police as hardcore racists. Arrests for quality-of-life offenses, disorderly conduct, and drug possession — the firewall against more serious crime —have plummeted since the riots, as the police keep their heads down."

Mac Donald worries that "anti-racism task forces and aid packages" give young inner city residents the poisonous impression that "this is the way to get the world to notice you, this is power — destruction, not staying in school, studying, and accomplishing something lawful."

Instead, she recommends taking steps to "prevent the next riot before it happens by sending in police in force at the first sign of trouble. But better even than this," Mac Donald advises, "political and business leaders who have not already sold out to the civil rights monopolists should try to break their cartel. They should find black citizens who are willing to speak about values and personal responsibility, and who embody them in their own lives. They should appear with these citizens at public meetings and put them on task forces, if task forces they must have. If they do it enough," she predicts, "the press will have to pay attention. And when the voice of hardworking black America becomes familiar, the riot ideology may finally lose its death grip on American politics."

#2: "They used to call them "looters" and the Police could shoot them in the old days."

As America loses her nobility and becomes more and more feminized, relativistic, soft and wishy-wishy, she is becoming more and more of an APPEASER and an ENABLER of the base, ignoble mentalities here and abroad.

America today is just like an emotionally immature battered wife who STUPIDLY thinks she "deserves it".

These "batterers and looters" have sent their representatives to Durban SA. Paul Weyrich exposes their "true colors" here:

Their True Colors By Paul M. Weyrich

Once upon a time there was such a concept as loyalty to one's country. Once upon a time everyone understood that America is less than perfect but she is better than any alternative. Once upon a time members of Congress would not go abroad and criticize their own government while on other shores. During the Vietnam war there were plenty of members of Congress who were vehemently opposed to the war but who did not say so when attending international conferences.

But that was then and this is a United Nations Conference against Racism in Durban, South Africa. Seven members of the Black Caucus were in attendance. The Associated Press quotes Representative Diane Watson, the California Democrat, as telling the assembled worldwide delegation that "America is a racist state." Rep. Bernice Johnson of Texas said that reparations were necessary before her people could move on. She said that the government promised freed slaves "40 acres and a mule" but they never received any of it. Veteran Rep. John Conyers of Michigan said that he hopes to be able to put together a conference on reparations in the United States next year. Rep. Cynthia McKinney, the Georgia Democrat, invited the United Nations to investigate the criminal justice system in the United States as well as capital punishment. She cited statistics showing how much more frequently Black people get convicted of a crime and actually serve jail time than whites.

And so it went. Even the Rev. Jesse Jackson conceded that the United States has made progress in civil rights over the past 40 years. But he said that while the system of legal apartheid had been conquered, economic apartheid had not.

Forgive me, I know I have no right to speak on the matter because I am not Black, but I will anyway. I think it is downright un-American for these members of Congress to say what they have said at an international conference. The Bush Administration elected not to send Secretary of State Colin Powell to the Conference because a draft set of resolutions prepared for consideration by delegates condemns Israel as a racist state. It will be interesting to see how our members of Congress vote on that one. They probably will join leftists everywhere in a show of solidarity on the Israeli question.

If they want to hold that point of view in this country, that is their privilege. If they want to push the demented concept of reparations over here, let them. But to stand up before the world and say these things about their own country is truly reprehensible.

Right now there is an election underway in Zimbawe, the former Rhodesia. President Robert Mugabe, in order to stay in power, is sanctioning a campaign of terror against the few white farmers who remain there. Any Blacks seen aiding whites are subject to torture, mutilation, even death. Compared with Blacks in this country who are free to pursue the American dream, Blacks who dissent in Zimbawe literally put their lives on the line. I don't think the delegates from Zimbawe are going to stand up and accuse their government of racism, unless they are planning to defect. Even then they wouldn't be safe.

Mugabe's henchmen would no doubt track them down and have them silenced. Half of Africa is torn up by racially-motivated civil war. In some cases the government in control is exercising genocide against minority tribes. You won't hear that discussed at this United Nations conference.

Of all the outrageous remarks made by these members of the Black Caucus, however, Cynthia McKinney's comments about criminal justice take the prize. The United States has the fairest legal system in the world. We bend over backwards to give criminals a more than fair trial. Prosecutors will tell you how hard it is to obtain a conviction even in the face of overwhelming evidence. In some parts of the Black community, so-called jury nullification is underway. By that process, the guilty are set free just because of their race.

I know, in the eyes of these people I am a racist. But you know what Cynthia? More Black people get arrested and serve time in jail because more Black people commit crimes. That has a lot more to do with the total breakdown of the Black family than it has to do with race. But somehow it is easier to point the finger at others than to accept responsibility for what happens at home.

These members of the Black Caucus owe decent Americans, including their own middle class, an apology. And if they seek to attend any more international meetings in an official capacity, the House Leadership should deny them the funds to do so unless they agree in advance not to attack this country.

Right. That will be the day, won't it?

The left was able to hide their anti-Americanism from most when they were in power. Now that they are out of power, it is becoming obvious to the most apathetic what their agenda really is. Which is good for us.

"...could shoot them in the old days..."

I still shoot looters! What's the problem?

I don't give-a-shit if the ratio is 10:1, black:white, the motherfarcker coming past my front door is a dead person!

Do you really expect the cops to protect y'all?...FRegards

Thanks for the heads-up.

The Congressional Black-Caucus consists of 100% avowed and proud members of the Socialist Party. Their constituency has been duped, and will remain so, as long as the Liberal-Socialist-DemocRAT (aka, the LSD) Party, keeps "their folk" dumbed down and serfs on the big government plantation.
