Meehan Bush-bashing Draws Outraged Response
Boston Herald ^ | 9-15-01 | David R. Guarino and Ellen J. Silberman

U.S. Rep. Martin T. Meehan had police guarding his Lowell office yesterday after comments he made critical of President Bush's leadership prompted an angry reaction nationwide.

In an interview published in yesterday's Herald, Meehan questioned the White House response to suggestions that Bush stayed away from Washington too long during the terrorist attacks - and publicly doubted that Air Force One was a target of the hijackers.

``I don't buy the notion Air Force One was a target,'' he said. ``That's just PR. That's just spin.''

.........

The congressmen were bashed on the airwaves - including conservative Rush Limbaugh's syndicated radio broadcast. And they were scolded late yesterday by the state's junior senator, himself a possible Democratic candidate for president.

``I think it's unfortunate,'' said U.S. Sen. John F. Kerry. ``I don't think the timing is terrific.''

Not only is Meehan, famous for defending Clinton during his impeachment, a first-class Clymer, but that bozo and Presidential hopeful John Kerry, who once threw someone elses Medal-Of-Honor over the White House fence, doesn't think the TIMING is terrific.

In other words, wait a few days to insult the President and Commander-In-Chief.

Don't waste the money. A $0.75 Bic lighter takes longer but is just as effective.

(Rush Limbaugh played a voice transcript of an interview of Meehan had with Sean Hannity or someone, yesterday, wherein Meehan was lying up a storm,

lying to beat the band ---- like his (pathetic little political) life depoended upon it, which it does.

These are stressful times on all of us, and it looks like it's going to get worse. It's understandable that cowards like Meehan will lash out at anything as they quiver in fear.

This does not surprise me. What ever gave any one the idea that a tragedy such as this would change the way DeMARXocrats think. They are going along with the POTUS now because it is PC (Politically Correct), they will all show their true colors shortly.

Were the officers guarding his office armed? That's the second clueless liberal I've read about today who wants to hide behind guns now. Elton John is the other.

A satisfying little tidbit for you folks. Back during the impeachment, some of us were faxing all of congress. I used an internet service that would blast-fax at a good price. Apparently the number I was given for Meehan, though, was for the voice phone, not the fax, and the blast-fax software dumbly tried over and over to get through. Later that day, several hundred calls later in fact, their office staff reached me, and I had to contact the company and get them to stop the faxing attempts. At the time, I felt kind of bad about it. Now...heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh....

I called his office yesterday and said I watched what he said and that he should resign. The guy on the other end sounded depressed. I hung up and laughed with my girlfriend for 10 minutes. I figure, he's a Liberal and would hurt me if he could (hell, he'd abort me if he could) so I didn't feel bad about laughing and for a moment it took my mind off WTC. But then it all came flooding back again and I started getting angry with him all over again.

Today he's using the old 'OUT OF CONTEXT" routine.

Yeah, right!

WASHINGTON, D.C. Meehan receives threatening calls

Representative Martin Meehan, Democrat of Lowell, received threatening phone calls at his Lowell office yesterday, as readers responded to a Boston Herald report in which Meehan questioned why President Bush did not return directly to Washington after Tuesday's terrorist attacks. Meehan said his comments were taken out of context. (Globe Staff)
