Blair: Koran inspired me
Mr Blair says Islam is a 'deeply reflective, peaceful faith' Prime Minister Tony Blair has praised the Muslim faith as "beautiful", and says he has read the religion's holy book, the Koran.
Mr Blair says he owns two copies of the Koran, and has drawn inspiration from reading it.
"If you read the Koran, it is so clear... the concept of love and fellowship as the guiding spirits of humanity," he says, in an interview due to be published in the Muslim News.
Mr Blair told the newspaper that he appreciates Islam as "a deeply reflective, peaceful, very beautiful religious faith".
And he said he would be "very surprised" if Labour did not have Muslim candidates standing in winnable seats in the next election.
The newspaper - due to be published on 31 March - quotes Mr Blair as saying that Britain should "reach out and build a greater understanding of what Islam is".

Yeah, great Tony, I've got a Koran, too--stole it out of a middle east hotel 10 years ago. Now let's get on with the unpleasantries.

That Tony Blair. Is there a better politician in history? Last week he was on the verge of converting to Roman Catholicism. And nobody gave a clearer war cry than his to parliament after the attacks. Today he's literally seducing his muslims. Absolutely amazing considering he has been re-elected to the pinnacle of Europe's power hierarchy. I mean what else is there left to attain? It's a case of a personality dominating a mind.

I hope it inspired him. "Theirs will be a fearful doom" and that sort of thing.

Will we never be spared this incessant and irrelevant admonition to carefully distinguitsh between Islamic theology and muslim identity. When we say muslim militants we are only calling them what they have labeled themselves. We make no comment one way or the other about the theological merits of the Islamic religion. More PC neutering of western resolve.

Tony Blair is a lot like Clinton, he's almost a perfect politician. He's hard not to like, even when you know its to your detriment.

This one has me inspired:
Koran 59.2: He it is Who caused those who disbelieved of the followers of the Book to go forth from their homes at the first banishment you did not think that they would go forth, while they were certain that their fortresses would defend them against Allah; but Allah came to them whence they did not expect, and cast terror into their hearts; they demolished their houses with their own hands and the hands of the believers; therefore take a lesson, O you who have eyes!

From the Mass Against the Heathen:
Almighty and everlasting God, in whose hand are the power and the government of every nation; look to the help of the Christian people, that the heathen nations, who trust in their own fierceness, may be crushed by the power of Thy right arm.

The Koran may very well be a beautiful book. But until the "mainstream" Muslim population gets up off its @ss and starts condemning the extremists of their religion, many of us are going to find it hard to believe that "mainstream" Muslims even exist.

Almost as inspiring as:
GE 38:9 "... whenever he lay with his brother's wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from producing offspring for his brother. What he did was wicked ..., so the Lord put him to death."

The problem is they are afraid to because there are many militant sympathizers among them. This is an opportunity for our FBI and a gut check for the muslim enclave.
