To My Dearest America,

I know how you hurt when one of your sons or daughters are killed, they were my friends too, and I also weep at their passing, but we must be strong and not forget what they gave up for you and I to remain.

I went to visit all the family members today, here is what I saw, I saw a young daughter crying for her daddy to come home, but daddy will never get to make it home to this young girl for he died fighting to help another little girl’s daddy make it home to her.

I saw a mother clinging to the picture of the only son she had ever known, weeping for just one more chance to say “I love you son”, but that will never be, for he died trying to help a son be able to hear his mother say those very words.

Here was another scene that I gazed upon, a wife with tears flowing down her face, for she had forgotten to kiss her husband goodbye, but he would never receive that sweet kiss goodbye, for he and some other souls fought bravely in the sky, to save thousands of husbands kisses goodbye.

This type of visit was replayed over and over again at each place I went, mothers and fathers all in despair, brothers and sisters tired and worn, friends and relatives from all walks of life devastated by these cowardly acts.

My last stop was in an office where there was the Commander In Chief with his head buried in tears, weeping for the thousands that had perished, as I started to leave he stood and wiped away his tears, and told me to go, he said go and fly through this land from sea to shining sea, like you have done for hundreds of years, Yes fly high he said, for all to see.

So my dear America I write you these words, to let you know and your people know, that I will always be your friend and that no terrorist act will ever injure me.

Signed with love your friend forever “Freedom”

Thanks for the great pic. It looks better if you flip the picture so that the flag isn't "backwards."

The bitmap file is huge. Here's a reversed copy produced by the JPEG Wizard [which I recommend to all FReepers!]

AFAIK, a JPEG file will not work as a Windows 9x background. You HAVE to use a Bitmap file.

You can right click on yhe pic above and select "Save Picture As" to get the full size JPEG file.

I was able to right click and then click on "Set as Wallpaper." It worked great and looks terrific.

That flag is positioned correctly on the LEFT eye. If the right eye was shown, it would show the flag as we are accustomed. :)

If posted as a link, you may be right. But inline images allow "Set as wallpaper" even if links don't.

Yes that is a quick way of resetting your desktop.

(but it still converts the .jpg file to a .bmp type file)

THANK YOU!

Splendid

Thanks much. It's adorning my desktop now. BTW, to all other Freepers. If you're using Win98 or above, you can use JPegs as background images if your active desktop is activated. Of course, if you understand what I just wrote, you probably knew that anyway. Never mind.

Yes, but AFTER downloading, which means the difference between a 45K download (10 seconds or less at 56K) or a 1.44MEG download (lots longer).

The next time you choose "set as wallpaper", it will erase and replace the old one. The file is called "internet wall paper.bmp" or something similiar, and is found in windows directory. If you want to keep it, you should probably rename it.
