Here are a few photos that I found that show the heroism of the firefighters in the World Trade Center. The firefighters are going UP the stairs in the World Trade Center. True Courage.

This is the caption for all the photos:
John Labriola captured these dramatic images of office workers evacuating Tower One of the World Trade Center on September 11 during the attacks. Labriola is an independent contractor with the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey on the 71st floor of the building and managed to escape with no injuries.

Isn't that the truth. When I saw these photos, my heart just stopped. Very powerful testimony of their courage.

When the AP used these photos they mentioned that the firefighter shown survived the collapse.

New York's finest and America's finest!

.......................................
An Irish Blessing:

May the road rise to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sunshine warm your face, the rain fall soft upon your fields.

And until we meet again, may God hold you in th palm of His hand.

Amen.
......................................

God Bless them, and God bless America

AP is fibbing or just wrong.

The two standing next to each other are command officers, note the red helmets. Non officers wear black. The emblem on the red helmets are white....high command. Chiefs would have white helmets. Non officers wear black emblems. Like #28.....

I see their faces, they don't know what is to come....sad.

To: BornOnTheFourth, one_particular_harbour, Silly, dubyaismypresident, Slip18, maxwell,
My husband was a volunteer firefighter with the very small-town station where we lived. He used to grin behind his sooty chin as he'd come in from a call, perhaps late, perhaps very early in the morning. He'd say, "Yup. We firemen are a strange breed. How many other folks you know would run INTO a burning building?"

He'd always make me laugh with that...usually because I needed the tension release.

My heart went out to the wives of these fire, police, and rescue workers last week, especially on Tuesday.
Their husbands were the ones RUNNING IN.

God bless them, each and every one, for He knows them all by name and gave them their particular calling. Thank you, heroes! Thank you, heroines, wives of the heroes!

There are? Could you please post them either on this thread or start another? They deserve to be seen and honored.
Thanks.
