Definitely a war footing talking hold. President Bush will address Congress (and the nation) tomorrow night. Rice is telling us to prepare for a long and extended action.

Condi Rice is an outstanding National Security Advisor. Sharp, focused, and she can run circles around those reporters. She knows her stuff.

She is very cool under fire

Sorry I didn't post this earlier (it's not really breaking news anymore as it just ended). Condoleeza seemed very well poised and didn't seem to get tripped up. No pregnant pauses or rambling on.

Apparently all our allies are on board even including our not-so-friendly allies (ie China, Russia, even some Muslim countries). This appears much broader than the Persian Gulf coalition. This war is for the benefit of all civilized nations on earth.

The gist of the press conference IMHO was to set the tone for the days to come. The time for rescue and recovery is over. The time for revenge and restitution is at hand. Let's roll!

I didn't see today's press conference with Condi Rice, but I've seen others with her. I'm hoping C-Span runs it sometime this evening.

You have to find and see what just happened. Lot's of bright people in government (even liberals) but Condoleeza is in a class by herself. Thinking on her feet doesn't describe how quick this lady is. She graduated from HS at 15 and from college at 19. And she is real. She thought, as most of us did, that detente was the best we could hope for with the Soviet Union, that the Berlin Wall would never fall in our life times. When the evil empire collapsed, she admitted she was wrong. And praised Reagan to the skies for having vision she did not have. That doesn't happen in the political class much.

She would indeed make an excellent President. She has a presence, a sharp mind and a mild manner. She worked for GHB administration and I was impressed with her then. Her resume is quite outstanding.

Again, this was a very commanding and impressive performance. If you can catch this in replay on C-SPAN tonight, please do so. I agree with another Freeper on this thread that she may be someday the president of the USA herself. I am so glad she is on OUR side!

Imagine the cows over at NOW watching this! Those whining, bitching feminists must be besides themselves seeing this National Security Advisor handling the White House press corps like they were a bunch of kittens.

A black woman who made it on her own - without the support of NOW and other radical leftist "women's organizations." And she is a conservative Republican to boot! This must really burn them.
