George W. Bush is not known for his oratory. He suffers from malapropisms and he doesnt seem always to understand the weight his words carry. During this crisis, those shortcoming are instantly magnified. But in the midst of tension, Bush has revealed a surprising strength: extemporaneous speaking.

My favorite Bush line:
"I'm not going to shoot a $ 2 million dollar missle at a $ 10 dollar tent in the desert and hit a camel in the butt ...."
Bravo President Bush!

Bush's oratory style is more down-home, simple, almost humble. When I see him, I think to myself: Not Reagan, true; more Jimmy Stewart in "Mr Smith Goes to Washington."
I see Bush, I think "Jimmy Stewart. Jimmy Stewart, Jimmy Stewart."

As wonderful as that quote is, the icing on the cake is that he said it during a small meeting with members of the New York and Virginia congressional delegatons .....
In other words ..... he said it in #97's presence ..... ROFLMCO!!!!!!
This was documented by some of the media who were present.

Good for him! I like Bush more and more all the time! I'm hoping that perhaps these terrorist events had their schedule moved up, because of the Bush win, and that the terrorists are not fully prepared. Unfortuntely it seems they have quite a few of their people already in place, but I'm hoping that their full strength was aborted.

I understand him just fine. He's speaking Texan.
To: ex-Texan
Dan Rather just paraphrased this.......he said.....it should be noted that President Bush ridiculed former President Clinton when he said he was not going to launch a $2million missile at an empty tent. I guess Rather couldn't bring himself to say 'camel's butt'.

People keep "misunderestimating" President Bush. I predict his style will endear him all the more to Americans "big time" as this war rolls along. He comes across as one of us, our guy.
Funny thing, with X42 he said things in a highly eloquent, even articulate way -- but you never could be sure what he really meant.
With President Bush, on the other hand, he says things in an decidedly unpolished way -- but you always know exactly what he means.

All this good feeling toward Dubya's got to be killing you, eh Harry?
To: ex-Texan
That's my all-time favorite Bushism.

All this good feeling toward Dubya's got to be killing you, eh Harry? No way. Quite the contrary, as a matter of fact. It's the censorship that's got me pissed off.
Stay well,
Callahan
